River Deck Cafe by Prana Resorts — Restaurant in Maharashtra

6 of us, including two kids, visited on 1st Jan 2025. While the ambience and setup was good, the service that we recived from the Captain n staff was HORRIBLE. To start with, I had requested for a no smoking zone as we had kids however, to our surprise, we saw the guests smoking freely just outside and no one from the staff was stopping them despite me complaining as it was bothering the kids and the ladies. Exactly 25 mins later we were given glasses without water and 10 to 15 mins post that we were given the menu card, only after we asked for it. When I spoke about it to the captain, Mr. Ajay, he very promptly said we have other guests so was sorting them out...for around 45 mins! Really?? After handing out the menu, he was standing on top on our heads asking for orders immediately without even letting us scan the menu, stating it's late already. Eventually we got the food after being there for more than 1 n a half hours. The food was really sumptuous however, the services from the staff was pathetic, something which we will be etched in our minds considering it was the start of the new year. To add to it, Service Tax of 380/- was added to the bill in addition to SGST and CGST and when we asked to exclude it, we were being it was just a mere amount!! Absolutely shocked with the way things are handled at ground level. Just a piece of advise to fix these issues as the resort does look ravishing and such small stuffs can impact...

Visited River Deck Café (Ravet, Pune) and was disappointed with their billing practices. We placed our entire order at once, but were given two separate bills one for food and another for beverages without our request. As per the rule issuing two separate bills is allowed only if two distinct orders placed at different times or if customers requested billing split.

When we questioned this, the manager claimed it’s “their rule” to split bills this way, which seems like a clear attempt to mislead customers or manipulate charges.

Worse, a 10% gratuity (service charge) was automatically added to both bills without asking or informing us. Only after we raised this, the manager casually said, “If you want, we can remove it.” This is not how gratuity should work it’s voluntary, not something that should be enforced and then negotiated.

Transparency and customer consent are key in hospitality. I hope the management reviews these practices and aligns with proper GST norms and consumer...
