In the bustling heart of Bhiwandi, where the rhythm of commerce beats incessantly, Shiv Sagar stands as an oasis of culinary delight, a haven for those seeking a symphony of flavors in a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Nestled amidst the vibrant tapestry of the city, its warm ambience beckons like a siren's song, enticing passersby with the promise of a gastronomic adventure that will leave their taste buds dancing in ecstasy.

Upon stepping into Shiv Sagar's welcoming embrace, one is immediately enveloped by an aroma that is both tantalizing and comforting, a fragrant tapestry woven from the delicate whispers of spices and the hearty essence of freshly cooked delicacies. The restaurant's décor, an elegant fusion of modern aesthetics and traditional charm, creates an atmosphere of refined sophistication, setting the stage for a culinary experience that will elevate the senses and linger long after the last bite.

The menu at Shiv Sagar is a culinary odyssey, a journey through the diverse landscapes of Indian cuisine, each dish a testament to the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence. From the fiery delights of North Indian fare to the soothing comfort of South Indian specialties, Shiv Sagar's culinary repertoire caters to every palate, offering a symphony of flavors that will leave even the most discerning gastronome speechless.

The restaurant's star attraction, the Shiv Sagar Special Thali, is a true feast for the eyes and the palate. A colorful medley of culinary delights, the thali is a testament to the chefs' mastery of traditional Indian flavors. Each dish, meticulously prepared and presented with artistry, sings its own unique melody, harmonizing with the others to create a symphony of taste that is both exhilarating and comforting.

As the flavors dance across the tongue, a sense of contentment washes over you, a feeling of being nourished not just by food but by an experience that has touched your soul. Visited July 13, 2025 – Day 10 India

So many of our friends recommended that we visit Shiv Sagar again, and honestly, we didn’t need much convincing. We’ve been here several times during past trips to Mumbai, and it always feels like coming home to a familiar favorite.

Of course, everyone insisted we had to order the iconic Pav Bhaji, and it did not disappoint—rich, buttery, spicy, and absolutely unforgettable with soft, fluffy buns toasted to perfection. We ordered a little something for everyone: • Vada Pav – The ultimate Mumbai street classic. Crispy, spicy vada tucked inside a soft bun, with chutneys that pack just the right punch. • Soya Biryani – Fragrant, flavorful, and a great vegetarian alternative. Full of spice and depth. • Tandoori Roti – Soft, charred just right, and perfect to scoop up the veggies. • Bhindi Fry – Crisp, well-seasoned okra that even the kids enjoyed nibbling on. • Chowmein – A hit with the little ones—mild, colorful, and not too greasy, just the way kids like it. We have two kids (5 and 7 years old), and they each had their own very specific cravings—one wanted pizza, and the other asked for wonton soup. So we ordered both, and that’s where the service really stood out.

Our server Rajesh Kumar Panda was exceptional. Fast, efficient, and so thoughtful. Without us saying a word, he brought the pizza already split onto two plates and served the wonton soup in two separate bowls—one for each child. As any parent knows, that small act can make a huge difference. It was as if he could anticipate how children can be when it comes to “sharing.” We were so impressed by his kindness and attention to detail.

Shiv Sagar continues to be one of our most-loved food spots in Mumbai—not just for the food, but for the warmth, care, and little thoughtful touches that make the experience...

Disappointing Misal Pav Experience

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

I recently visited Shiv Sagar Veg restaurant for breakfast and decided to try their Misal Pav. While the overall experience was average, there were certain aspects that left me disappointed.

The Misal Pav had a dominant taste of tomatoes, and it seemed like the gravy or puree was primarily made of tomatoes. Personally, I prefer a more balanced flavor profile in my Misal Pav, with a blend of spices and other ingredients. Unfortunately, the overwhelming tomato taste overshadowed the other flavors and made the dish less enjoyable for me.

On the positive side, the pav was fresh and served warm, which added some texture and warmth to the dish. The portion size was decent, and the Misal was adequately spicy for those who enjoy a kick of heat.

However, the lack of complexity in the tomato-based gravy detracted from the overall experience. It would have been more satisfying if the dish had incorporated a wider range of flavors and spices to create a harmonious balance.

The service at Shiv Sagar Veg restaurant was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant. The staff members were attentive and accommodating, which contributed to a comfortable dining atmosphere.

While I appreciate the efforts of the restaurant, the singular focus on the tomato flavor in the Misal Pav left me wanting more. I believe that adding more variety of flavors and spices could greatly enhance the dish and make it more enjoyable for a wider range of palates.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of tomato-based gravies and enjoy a simple, straightforward Misal Pav, Shiv Sagar Veg restaurant might be worth a try. However, if you prefer a more diverse and complex flavor profile, you might want to explore other options...

One star only⭐ **Review for Shiv Sagar Restaurant** I’ve had good experiences at Shiv Sagar earlier and even rated it well before, but unfortunately, today’s visit was disappointing. See bill attached. I ordered **Aloo Paratha**, expecting the usual serving with **a dollop of butter and curd/raita** – as is the norm at most restaurants. But to my surprise, the paratha arrived **dry, without butter**, and **without any sides** like curd or raita. When I asked the waiter, he simply said, *"It says Aloo Paratha in the menu, not Butter Aloo Paratha,"* and if I needed butter, it would be an *extra charge*. They did bring butter later, but added **₹50 + taxes** just for that. The paratha itself felt more like a **tandoori roti stuffed with aloo**, not a soft **tawa-style paratha** you'd expect. If they are so strict about what’s included, they should clearly **mention in the menu** that butter and curd are **not part of the serving**.and this is tandoori paratha not tawa paratha Overall, **quite a letdown**. I would **not recommend ordering Aloo Paratha** here, especially when so many other places serve it better

If you’re traveling out of Mumbai via the Samruddhi Mahamarg, this is one of the best places to stop for breakfast before you enter the highway. Since the food courts on the Samruddhi stretch are few, far apart, and not always great, Shivsagar makes for a perfect pit stop just before you take the expressway. Located about a kilometer down the Nashik road from the Samruddhi exit towards Nashik, the restaurant is very convenient to access. It offers ample parking, spacious AC and non-AC seating, and can easily handle a large crowd. The food is fresh, tasty, and served quickly. The service is prompt and polite, which makes the experience even better. Washrooms are well-maintained and clean, which is a big plus for travelers. The presence of a petrol pump nearby adds to the convenience. Overall, Shivsagar is an ideal stopover to refresh, refuel, and enjoy a hearty meal before continuing your journey on the Samruddhi Mahamarg. Highly recommended!
