I recently dined at Datta Snacks Corner and had a rather perplexing experience. While the food undoubtedly pleased my taste buds, the service and cleanliness aspects left a lot to be desired.
Let's start with the positives: the food. The menu offerings were delightful, and the dishes it's clear that the kitchen knows how to create a satisfying culinary experience.
However, the service was a complete letdown. The staff appeared disinterested and overwhelmed. There was a lack of attention to customers, and it took an inordinate amount of time to even place an order. It felt as if the employees were more focused on their own conversations than catering to the diners.
The real disappointment, though, was the cleanliness of the establishment. The tables were grimy, and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. It's disheartening to see such a lapse in basic hygiene, especially in a place where people come to enjoy their meals.
Despite these glaring drawbacks, the food was the saving grace. The flavorful dishes managed to overshadow the service and cleanliness issues to some extent. If Snacks Corner can address its customer service shortcomings and seriously ramp up its cleanliness game, it has the potential to become a top-notch dining destination. Read moreThis is a dual outlet of famous Shree Datta Snacks, one in front of the another, on opposite sides of the road. (Old Mumbai-Pune Highway) (A new outlet is opened just opposite to the original outlet since older one used to get overcrowded.)
Both the outlets are famous for the Maharashtrian Snacks it serves.
Parking: In spite of the big parking area, getting vacant parking can be a big task.
Washroom: Available at new outlet
Food: It has varieties of snacks - Sabudana Vada, Sabudana Khichdi, Vada Pav, Kanda Bhajji, Batata Bhajji, Moong Bhajji, Misal Pav, Thalipeeth, Kothimbir Vadi, Mutter Patice, Pohe, Kharwas to name a few.
Service: It is a self-service outlet. Most of the time the place is crowded and first you will have to be in a queue at the payment counter (Yes, it's a prepaid outlet), then to collect your order & wait to get a vacant table. Service sometimes feels slow & mismanaged due to lesser staff.
Verdict: It's a good option to try varieties of Maharashtrian snacks, if you have considerable patience to tolerate a waiting time.
Suggestion to Management: (Management needs to work on improving TAT in “Kitchen Operations” & at “Payment Counter” as well. Spending 30-40 mins in wait for QSR seems impractical. Overall waiting time shouldn't be this long for any such outlet. I saw many cars leaving the venue after seeing the...
