I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thomson Restaurant located in the New Sanghavi area of Pune. After ordering from them on Swiggy for the past two years, I decided to experience their food in person. I was not disappointed!

The restaurant boasts a spacious seating area that can comfortably accommodate around 60 people. The ambiance was inviting, and the attentive service from the waiters truly stood out. Our waiter went above and beyond, providing helpful recommendations and guiding us to try their mutton dishes.

Let me tell you, the mutton roast at Thomson Restaurant were absolutely outstanding. The flavors were mouth-watering, and the meat was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. What impressed me the most was the generous portion size. It's rare to find restaurants that serve such ample quantities of meat dishes, making it an excellent value for money.

However, the crown jewel of Thomson Restaurant's menu, and a personal favourite, is undoubtedly the Kerala Oil Fried Chicken. This dish is an absolute delight for the taste buds. The chicken is fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior and succulent meat that simply melts in your mouth and is mixed with fried garlic and onion. In my opinion, it is the best rendition of this dish you can find in all of Pune.

Disappointing Service Experience

We visited this restaurant expecting a good kerela style meal, but unfortunately, the service provided by a waiter named Govind completely ruined our evening. He failed to take our order properly, bringing the wrong item to our table. When we politely informed him of the mistake, instead of rectifying it or even acknowledging his error, he was extremely rude and dismissive. His attitude was unprofessional, and he lacked basic manners.

What made the situation worse was that we were charged for the wrong item despite not consuming it and we had to take it as parcel even if we did not order that. This level of customer service is unacceptable. Govind's behavior spoiled the entire mood, and we eventually left without having our meal. This restaurant has been sitting right next to me for the last 9 years. Looks very simple and basic... But don't really judge the book by it's cover. The food they serve will leave you content. Recommended : Liver fry : brilliant flavours and extremely additive... Tandoori chicken : quite ordinary.. Mutton Malwani with Appams : Appams are absolutely soft and taste like heaven (a bit on the sweeter side). The dry pieces of mutton are extremely well spices and masala coated. The gravy served with the dish is also really lip smacking. Yes, this one is for spice lovers. The mix of sweetish aapams with spicy mutton is 'out of the park' combination. All at a very pocket friendly cost.
