I had a highly disappointing experience at this Irani hotel. While the reputation of such establishments is built on offering delicious teas and classic bun maska, this place falls short on all fronts.
Firstly, the prices were outrageously high for both tea and bun maska, yet the quality and quantity were shockingly poor. To add to the frustration, they refused to serve basic drinking water, insisting that only mineral water was available, which was, of course, chargeable. When I first visited Cafe Irani Chaii, the flagship outlet located at Mahim, it was a new Irani joint. It was my discovery at that time, as every other Irani place was old and everybody knew about them. But, this, as selfish as it may sound, was mine, as i had stumbled onto it, and over the years it became the basis of my good food choices with my friends.
Cutting a long story short, you can't go wrong with the food here.
My top lists are the Bun Muska with that delectable Irani Chaii, sometimes I switch it up with the Black Tea, but keep that seperate from the Bun Muska. Akurii with Do Anda, and you might miss this but this is something you should be careful before trying. The Irani Chicken. Once you eat it, you're screwed. Nothing will match up to it ever again.
Please do visit and enjoy the amazing food of...
