You either get fabulous Paratha’s or you don’t. There are no midways about it. There are 2 types of people in this world; one who love their Paratha’s and the ones who don’t.
Why I love Paratha’s and the one’s made authentically at that:
1] They are the most versatile food type; go with anything butter, curd, pickle, subji, dal or nothing at all.
2] They are a feel-good factor; Maa ki yaad aa jaati hai.
3] They can be had anytime, anywhere, any place.
It was a random search on Zomato that lead me to this restaurant or delivery kitchen. My first impression was that this would be another hole-in-the-wall eatery to serve mediocre stuff but this kitchen proved me wrong with their standard of quality and taste over a period of time. I must have ordered 5-6 times by now from their kitchen; not once was I disappointed.
I have had each & every Paratha that they have to offer except the Nutella Paratha.
My favourites are as below:
ALU PARATHA - The correct amount of thickness, stuffing of mashed potato, red chilies and onions, baked to perfection with generous amount of butter. Simplicity at its best! This is a MUST-HAVE.
MUTTER PANEER - Grated Paneer mixed with boiled and mashed green peas and cooked with some finely chopped garlic. The colour combination of white and green is just so good.
PYAAZ TAMATAR - Another variant which is my personal favourite, this combination of sweet-tangy tomatoes and slightly pungent onions hits the right notes.
PANEER DO PYAZA - A nicely prepared Paneer Bhurji type stuffing which was yummy to taste but could be made a bit more spicy. This is a MUST-HAVE.
They also serve a fabulously creamy & spiced CHHAAS.
Just one suggestion to the management, almost all their Paratha’s has either onion or garlic or both but this fact has not been highlighted anywhere on the menu. In fact, one of my colleague who happens to be a Jain, did go through an uncomfortable experience after he consumed a Paratha. Please mention the fact on the menu.
This place scores very high on the VALUE FOR MONEY proposition. They have 2 price points for the Paratha’s; Rs.75 & Rs.90, for a wholesome & tasty meal like the Paratha, it’s a steal.
I can surely say this with a certain degree of authority that Oye Kiddan is one of those few places in Mumbai which serve authentic Paratha’s and are made with lot of heart in it.

So I was very excited to review this place as it served my hearty cuisine, North Indian. I was very keen as well as curious to taste the paranthas because I wanted to try Paranthas that can maybe beat the ones that my mom makes which is really difficult.
So well, when it comes to Vegetarian parathas I've grown up eating aloo parathas, Punjabi so ofcourse and well we eat them any time and any meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner, next day repeat prolly with leftovers.
I had an issue with service as my delivery was pretty late. They should improvise on that. Packaging is impressive.
What I tried?
PANEER PYAAZ PARATHA
CHEESE CORN PARATHA
CHICKEN KHEEMA PARATHA
BUTTER CHICKEN PARATHA
NUTELLA PARATHA
RAJMA CHAWAL
DAL MAKHNI WITH LACCHA PARATHA
I loved the nonvegetarian parathas here as they were something I don't eat often. Kheema had peas in it. Cheese corn was delicious too as the melted cheese was well spread across the entire paratha. Butter chicken paratha was the best of all. I also liked how they packed butter, dahi and pickle with parathas along with 2 chutneys. Although, parathas themselves were delicious enough to not require any add-ons.
Rajma chawal and laccha parathas was basic. Like a little bland. Needs to be more spicy and more taste of ghee for the authentic Punjabi taste. So this can improve.
Pricing is decent enough, veg parathas start at Rs 90 so...

I was at my Training in Thane and thought of ordering something for me and my friend from this place.
So we ordered:
Aloo Paratha: Literally this Aloo Paratha was so soo delicious! Plus it was so huge that it can suffice one person. Also the paratha was so properly packed and even Amul butter was given along with it if you want to add! And also raw mango's pickle was sent along with it!
Chhole: Chhol was sent in a container and it was so creamy and so delicious! It was also served with pickle. And chhole was absolutely amazing!
Paneer Biryani: Biryani was the best out of all! Rice and veggies were properly cooked and tightly packed in a container. And the quantity was soo good that one person cannot complete it all. It was served with onions and fresh curd.
Gulab Jamun: Gulab Jamun were so fresh and tightly packed in a container.
The best part about this place is the packaging done by them is amazing! Also the quantity served is worth every penny spent!
Definitely ordering from the same place again!
