Extremely Disappointing & Unhygienic Experience
We visited PizzaExpress (Wadala) with high expectations, only to leave completely disgusted and shocked by the level of unprofessionalism and lack of hygiene.
The restaurant was extremely crowded, and after waiting over 20 minutes with no sign of being seated, we decided to just opt for takeaway due to how hungry we were. While waiting for the order, we noticed an empty table outside and sat there to quickly eat.
While eating, I was absolutely horrified to find a long strand of hair embedded inside the cheese of the pizza—not just on top, but fully baked into it. We immediately informed the staff. Instead of apologizing, the staff started defending themselves, saying things like “we don’t have male chefs” and “you are sitting outside, that’s why it happened.” How does that even make sense when the hair was inside the cheese?!
Eventually, they offered a refund or a replacement pizza—neither of which we asked for or accepted. We were already disturbed enough and just wanted to get done with the meal.
We then ordered a bottle of water, and when we went to pay the ₹237 bill, the restaurant employee apologized again and told us not to pay because of the incident. We started walking out, only to be chased down by another employee, accusing us of leaving without paying! When we explained what happened, he rudely replied with “first slice me toh hair nahi tha, kha toh liya na,” basically blaming us for even eating part of the pizza. There was zero accountability, and he spoke to us in an incredibly unprofessional and arrogant manner before walking off.
This experience was not just about finding a hair in the food—it was about how terribly the staff handled the situation. Absolutely no basic courtesy, customer service, or hygiene standards.
Never going back. Would not recommend this place to anyone who values hygiene or...
Read morethe management overall at their locations, needs to provide value for money. The bruschetta are just "maida" baked with 2 pcs of tinned jalapenos on it. No flavor, No taste. When settling bills. the service charge is put on bill and refused to be removed as it doesnt justify the tip to be paid for the kind of service. For eg: continuosly asking if all is ok - Is NOT SERVICE. repetedly asking is Absolutely NOT. It seems this implies we will charge you SC no matter what - becoz we asked you... and dont care if there is a conversation in progress on the table. The change given by cashier at this location came short of the exact change... They charged the SC nevertheless but didnt pay up the change that was due!!! I observed, he slyly spoke to our server about it and both agreed. I had to object about it and only then i was given the exact change without a problem... Why such unethical practice!!!!!!! Imaging the cash siphoned off from customers !!!!!! I had paid 160+GST on tip over the GST bill!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet they want to get the extra buck out!!!!!!!!!!! the aglio-olio needs to be learnt properly again... which ever chilly flakes used need to be tasted by chefs and mangement too to ascertain the level of SPICE that the pre-packaged chilly flake has!!! Your proportions maybe defined but level of spice from various vendors to your outlets varies!!!! It was SPICY!
Disliked the unethical practice to gain MONETARILY ONLY! Sad to say - once my favorite place to go... Now no more!
Well, new customers will always be gullible. So ..... they...

The ambience is quite functional. It feels like a hybrid between a modern fast-food chain and a spacious, long-seating café. It's clean and works for a casual meal, but don't expect a cozy, intimate Italian restaurant feel.
Calabrese Pizza 🍕 (5/5): This was, without a doubt, the star of the show and the reason I'm giving this place four stars. It was simply amazing. The bread had the perfect chew and char. What really elevated it was the use of whole olives instead of the usual chopped ones, which provided a fantastic burst of flavour in every bite. The cheese and toppings were perfectly balanced. It just hit all the right spots. Truly, a showstopper! Aglio Olio Spaghetti 🍝 (2/5): Unfortunately, the spaghetti was a letdown. I found it to be very average and one-dimensional. It seriously lacked the robust flavours of garlic, chili, and quality olive oil that you expect from a good Aglio Olio. It felt like a missed opportunity.
Vanilla Cheesecake 🍰 (3/5): For dessert, we tried the vanilla cheesecake. While the texture was fine, it was a bit too sweet for my personal preference, overpowering the subtle vanilla and cream cheese notes.
If you're craving an absolutely fantastic, authentic-tasting pizza, I would highly recommend you visit...
