A Hidden Gem for Seafood Lovers!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at this small, humble eatery and I'm still thinking about the food days later. It’s one of those rare places that completely blows your mind with its simplicity, authenticity, and flavors that speak straight to your soul.

I ordered the Bombil Thali, and every bite was pure joy. The bombil (Bombay duck) was perfectly fried—crispy on the outside, yet meltingly soft on the inside. The thali came with comforting home-style rice, bhakri, a flavorful curry, and chutney that packed just the right punch. It reminded me of the kind of food you get in a Konkan home—full of love and rooted in tradition.

And then came the Sol Kadhi—what a beauty! Refreshing, tangy, and the perfect palate cleanser. It wasn’t overly spicy or watery like many places serve. This was authentic sol kadhi made just right—with that balanced coconut and kokum flavor that instantly cools you down and complements the seafood so well.

The ambience is very simple, no-fuss, small seating, but super clean and warm. The service was polite and quick, and you can tell the people here care more about the quality of their food than flashy decor—which I personally admire.

This is the kind of place you want to keep coming back to. The food has that comforting, homely touch that’s becoming harder to find these days. If you’re a fan of coastal Maharashtrian cuisine or just want a truly satisfying, soulful meal—don’t miss this place!

I’m so glad I found it. Highly recommended, especially for seafood lovers. Can’t wait to go back and try their...

Have been visiting Mumbai Hospital since the past few days , have been entering early leaving late , have been walking the lane towards jaffer Bhai , seen many Places spring up near Liberty cinema , but whenever planned to pay a visit see something new . Wednesday decided to pay a visit at this newly opened eatery Varadi Tadka right below marine chambers Bld no 2

Had the bheja fry masala with bajra bhakri , it was superb. Then tried the kheema kaleji with jowar bhakri this too was Excellent.

Today tried the khurpaya masala with bhakri . The best thing about this place is that the food is made fresh & always the one taking the order will ask how one likes their food , spicy / less spicy or non spicy .

Mostly it's Uncle who comes personally to take the order & suggest what's good to eat . Uncle's son Chef Nadeem makes it a point to look personally on the quality , hygiene & flavours of the food made & dishes out .

Today had a chance to personally meet Nadeem , a chef who has cooked for the Ambanis to being a key player chef at the Oberoi, then cruised his way to the USA . Now this father & son Jodi is giving back to the world all that they have learnt through food .

A must visit Varadi Tadka marinlines near...

Stumbled upon this gem of a place while visiting Metro cinema. Had one of the most unique and flavorful curry I've had in Mumbai. Had ordered Surmai thali and Bombil thali. The fried Bombil literally melts in the mouth. The Surmai quantity felt a little less compared to other places, but none of them could beat this place in the taste department. The curry is unique and very tasty. It wasn't to spicy, not too bland either, just the right amount of zing and flavor. It didn't overwhelm the taste of fish rather it complimented it quite well. The thali was well prepared and tasty, loved the coconut laddoos and sol kadhi. Would totally recommend the Bombil thali here. Haven't had the opportunity to try other items here, but given their curry, I'm pretty sure they are going to be awesome. I'm both happy and sad that they don't have more branches. It helps them preserve the...

We stumbled upon this hidden gem and were blown away by the flavors! The menu offers a delightful range of local specialties. We indulged in: 1. Crispy Pomfret Fry 2. Veg Thali 3. Mutton Biryani 4. Solkadi What stood out was the perfect balance of spices and heat. Each dish was expertly crafted with love, care, and a deep understanding of traditional Maharashtrian cuisine. This unassuming eatery outshines many high-end restaurants, delivering authentic, homely flavors that warm the heart. Also the chef great person to talk. Highly recommended!"
