Just disappointing all the way round. The food is extremely overpriced. The waitstaff is a joke - they keep screaming at each other across the room right in the middle of the service. When provided specific instructions on the amount of spice you want your food to contain, they give you gyaan as to what the best spice level for you should be. I asked for extra spicy food, I received something barely spicy, clearly the consideration of the waiter was more important than me - the customer.

Food - The "tomato soup" was an abomination. The tikka starters are just tasteless fillers. These guys would be best advised sticking to making Saoji food only and try to maximise their usefulness in that regard, not venture in areas where they are clearly not qualified. Sadly, the Saoji food also was a bitter disappointment. This is the 2nd time I have had lunch in this establishment and both the times I found the food less than underwhelming. I highly doubt that there shall be a 3rd time for me now.

Prices - These people clearly believe that they can punch well above their weight as demonstrated by the pricing on their items. A normal mineral water bottle costs 30 Rs. here. For no reason other than because they can. The most ordinary, no-brand rice costs Rs. 100 for a half plate. The aforementioned tikkas were Rs. 300 for 9 tiny, brittle little pieces. One normal fulka chapati costs Rs. 20. I really do not mind paying premium if the place deserves it. I mean look at places like Barbeque (Sadar) or Yamazaki or Tao. They demand a premium because their product commands it. Not these folks. They are simply in the scalping business.

At this point of time, I cannot help but conclude that these people are pulling their clientele simply because of their location and the fact that they have been in business for long. As for people wanting to taste proper authentic Saoji that is actually worth a damn, you'd be well advised to give this place a wide berth. I...

Jagadish Saoji Bhojanalaya in Nagpur is a fantastic place to experience authentic Saoji cuisine, known for its rich, spicy flavors that are sure to satisfy any food lover. Every time I visit Nagpur, this restaurant is on my list. One of the standout dishes is the dal kanda, which is highly recommended for vegetarians – it's flavorful, comforting, and perfectly spiced. Another favorite is the patodi rassa, a traditional dish that offers a perfect balance of heat and depth.

The way the restaurant operates is simple yet satisfying. They charge for a plate of curry, but the plate comes with unlimited rice and chapati, ensuring that you're well-fed and don’t leave hungry. It’s a great value for money, especially considering the generous portions.

To round out the meal, they also serve a sweet treat and a refreshing glass of chaas, which helps balance the spiciness of the dishes and adds to the overall experience. The ambiance is casual and comfortable, making it a great spot for both family meals and casual dining with friends.

Jagadish Saoji Bhojanalaya is a must-visit for anyone wanting to dive into the heart of Saoji cuisine and enjoy hearty, traditional meals in Nagpur. The combination of great food, generous portions, and the unique offerings makes it a standout place for anyone...

So finally after a long time we planned for dine in and succeeded. Jagdish Saoji opportunity Gandhi Sagar ( Shukarawari Talaw) So as usual we jumped in to the restaurant and wait for waiter to take our order after some time we got to know we need to use menu card and like self service had to go to counter and give order at main counter and I asked them we need mutton and kheema and egg curry they won't ask me for roti or rice and directly gave me bill....it was shocking as first time I saw somthing like this in Nagpur. Bill before eating anything in Saoji.... Thats new experience for all of us... after some time they started serving us and so nicely they served us rotis and all the dishes we ordered and we got to know rotis and rice is unlimited... Now here is my actual review... Taste...really great staff... very polite and friendly... order whatever you want you will get everything delicious and rotis and rice hot and warm as you expect all the time... ambience is beautiful. Hygiene was completely maintained... overall one of the best Saoji Restaurant in Nagpur.

Thanks to Jagdish Saoji Bhojanalay

Gagdish Saoji Bhojanalya I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gagdish Saoji Bhojanalya, and I must say, it's an awesome place for authentic Saoji cuisine! The food was exceptional, with standout dishes like the Saoji mutton, Gauran chicken, and mutton bheja - all of which were cooked to perfection! What impressed me most was the incredible value for money. The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent option for those seeking delicious, authentic Saoji food without breaking the bank. While the ambiance may not be the most pleasing, the friendly service and outstanding food more than make up for it! Overall, I'd give Gagdish Saoji Bhojanalya full marks for taste and service. If you're a fan of Saoji cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

A very popular, old Saoji restaurant in Mahal area of Nagpur, beside the Shukrawari Lake. The taste is delightful, and authentically Saoji. But the hygiene is a bit iffy-plates and other cutlery seemed clean. Not too confident about the kitchen. The menu is mostly Thali based, both veg and non-veg items are available. They however are strict that a single thali is non-shareable. And if one person in your family/ group takes a thali they would insist that everyone takes a thali. But you can always request them. (We had to clarify that there will be no sharing between the veg and non-veg people and then they allowed.) It’s a bit tedious and I’m going to deduct stars for that. If your primary concern is hygiene, there are better places in Nagpur.

Average quality of Food with higher pricing. Visited there for lunch with collogue. Tried egg curry and veg Bengan masala. Taste was average and too admirable. The thali system with choose of veg and non veg main course is available. They don’t give dal in thali but give plain rice to eat, don’t understand the logic? I asked them, so receptionist Mr. Arrogantly answers, no one ask for this and we don’t provide it. It’s my opinion that it’s highly rated but not as per the reviews seen from Google and looks normal hotel. The service was average. Tables were not clean and more oily layers was there on tables. I will never recommend this to anyone for their hospitality and services.
