Pakodewala in Burdi holds a special place in my heart, as it has been my go-to spot for pakodas since childhood. I have fond memories of visiting this old and famous shop with my parents when I was a kid (30 years ago), even though I was more into sweets than snacks back then. Over the years, the shop has undergone some changes, but a few things have remained the same.
One thing that has consistently delighted my taste buds is their jalebi. It's always perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with sweetness on the inside. The nostalgia of enjoying their jalebi brings back cherished memories of my childhood.
Besides the jalebi, the moong pakodas and samosas at Pakodewala are also noteworthy. They have a delightful crunch and are filled with flavorful fillings. These snacks have evolved over time, but they still retain their deliciousness. I never forget to drink a glass of masala milk whenever I visit this place.
The owner back then had very good relations with customers and even remember my parents and my name. New generation isn't into making relations, but only money and business. While the shop may have undergone some transformations, it's reassuring to know that some of the flavors and experiences from my childhood remain intact...

Read moreTried jalebi and dhokla from पकोडेवाला and I must say — it was an absolute treat!
The jalebi was perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy inside, and had that golden glow with just the right amount of sweetness — not overpowering, just satisfying. Freshly made and still warm, it had that delightful crunch that makes all the difference.
As for the dhokla, it was incredibly soft, spongy, and airy. The tadka (tempering) was spot on — aromatic, flavorful, and complemented with fresh coriander and green chilies. The accompanying chutney added a nice tangy kick.
You can tell they use fresh ingredients and care about the flavor balance. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, this spot delivers comfort food that hits the mark.
Highly recommended for jalebi-dhokla lovers! Perfect for a quick snack or even as a...
