Had seen lot of YouTube videos for this place and it was so on my wishlist. Finally got a chance to visit on a chilly November night. It was after a long drive from Pune to Nashik, and hunger taking over control, the mood was set. We were a group of around 7 adults and 3 children, and ordered a large hind kesari thali meant for around 6 people as described in the menu. A bit skeptical if it would suffice but decided we can order a-la-carte as needed. They mentioned it would take atleast 20 mins for the thali so ordered soyabean chilly to start with. It arrived quickly, the quantity was huge, 2 plates devoured by us within minutes. I am sure not many people would order that dish here but still mentioning that the taste was good, but the soyabean was a bit more chewy than we would have liked. Then came the monster thali, big enough to occupy half the table and had almost all the non-veg dishes the hotel serves. Prawns fry, surmai fry, pomfret fry, chicken leg pieces in gravy, prawns curry, chicken kheema, mutton kheema, chicken sukka, mutton sukka, pandhra rassa, tambda rassa, solkadhi, to go with bhakri, chapati and indrayani rice. I am sure I must be missing few items from the plate, but the ones mentioned were more than enough for the group. We couldn't finish what we got, I mean forget the gravy not even the meat. There were so many varieties to eat from and wash it down with steaming hot refills of tambda, pandhra rassa. It was blissful on a cold winter night in Nashik. Not sure if it was the time to prepare such huge quantity or the way they serve but we felt that the sukka dishes and the leg pieces would have been better if cooked a bit more. They were a bit more chewy than our liking. The owners were gracious enough to visit the table and take feedback and apologize. I would still say it was around 85% cooked, if you consider 100% cooked to be falling of the bones. There was some effort required to pull meat off from the bones. All in all a wonderful experience and best part is even after eating to the brim, the food didn't cause any uneasiness or after effects on the next day. A...

Read moreVisited Hotel Hind kesari recently, and it was a very disappointing experience. Though the branding and ambiance look attractive, the actual service and food quality were far below expectations.
The service was extremely slow, and the food was served cold even after a long wait. The quantity of chicken pieces was very less compared to the high prices. Many items listed on the menu card were not available at the time we ordered, so we had to settle for whatever was available — which was very disappointing.
When we asked the owner about charging ₹27 for a Tata water bottle, he replied arrogantly, saying he “donates ₹7 to Tata and keeps ₹7 as commission,” which sounded quite unreasonable. He even showed a so-called court order to justify selling water bottles above MRP, which didn’t seem right.
The staff completely ignored us while we were waiting for our food, and the owner was busy blaming other hotel owners instead of focusing on improving his own restaurant. Other customers around us also looked unhappy with the service.
Overall, a very poor experience — Hotel Hind kesari seriously needs to improve its service, food quality, menu availability, and attitude towards customers.
I can give him a minus rating if it is available...
