Chulha currently is topping the charts under the popular roof top restaurants in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Well there are not many in Navi Mumbai, but this one is worth it with a view of the entire Vashi skyline view. It's less than 5 mins walking from Sanpada station. Located on the 14th floor of the Meredian Business Centre, it's a medium sized family restaurant which specialises in Indian food. Though they have a vast variety, but I specifically loved their Indian delicacies.
Under Drinks, I loved the mocktail 'Coco jumbo'. It was served in a coconut, and as the name and the presentation tells you, an absolutely refreshing coconut based drink. I would definitely recommend it. Another drink was called 'Independence delight'. As since it was the Independence day week, they had specially made this cocktail with these flavoured syrups added along with Vanilla ice-cream for a true indian independence day feel. It was really nice.
For Appetizers, we tried Cheesecorn ball, Paneer reshmi tikka, Dahi kebab, Smoked peanut chilli chicken, Prawns schezwan chilli, Murgh rozali kebab, Noorani kebab. Oh yes we tried a good variety as they had a lot of options. The Cheesecorn ball was deliciouly cheesy, literally melted in my mouth. Smoked penut chilli chicken looked absolutely mouthwatering but it wasn't as chilli as the name suggests. Prawns schezwan was average, but I want to emphasize on the fact that the quality and the size of the prawns were really worth it. The Rozali kebab was good, it was like any other Rozali kebab available in the market. Rest all dishes were good, no complains but I would recommend the Cheesecorn balls and the smoked peanut chilli chicken. 👍
Under Mains- we had the Bbq chicken sizzler, Dal makhani, Butter chicken and Roti ki tokri. The sizzler was rice based. The sauce was delicious. Fresh veggies with finely cooked chicken is all you need for a perfect sizzler and they made sure we get that. Dal Makhnai needs a special mention, and I would recommend everyone to try this out. Loved it! Butter chicken was average.
Last but not the least for desserts we hadAnguri gulab jamun, Sizzling brownie And Honey noodles with vanilla ice-cream. For me the honey noodles with vanilla ice cream was the winner. Not too sweet, perfect amount after eating amazing Maincourse. Good option for ending your meal with the right amount of sweetness.
Conclusion: I had a great experience. The view is breathtaking. Service was commendable as they were on their toes right from the moment we entered the restaurant. With such huge variety of food, you'll always have something new to try and plan...
Read moreI've heard about Chulha a lot and been recommended about the same a lot in the last couple of years so I finally decided to give it a visit on my Dad's birthday this year.
The place is quite fancy given the view you get from the 14th Floor. We chose a place near the window and found it extravagant to sit there and enjoy our food. (Sadly the seats are really uncomfortable. Maybe its a psychological hack that they just don't want the people to enjoy the view endlessly.)
We ordered Chicken Manchow Soup. The soup was quite tasty and not overloaded with garlic which some restaurants do. But sadly the fried noodles were sour. Which I understand was due to the noodles which had turned stale and then they were fried to avoid wastage.
We asked for recommendations from our server and he recommended Banjara Kebab and Dilkhush kebab. But we had already tried those umpteen times in other restaurants so we rather went for Murgh Maharaja Kebab. It was Chicken Tikka Kebab which was in turn wrapped with Chicken Seekh Kebab. We found the description quite fancy and ordered that. Were served 6 pieces of it. Honestly taste was great but wasn't really value for money. And was on the drier side so had to compensate with the green Chutney and lemon.
Then we ordered Java Style Chicken Lollipop which was really tasty. Though there was no hint of Thai flavor in it. It simply felt it was tossed in Schezwan Sauce.
We then saw Sizzlers on the menu and were really tempted to order the same. So we ordered a Chilli Basil Chicken Sizzler. The quantity was humongous. We were three people and initially I thought only 2 would be able to share but the portion size was more than enough for 3 people. Noodles were sadly soggy and overboiled and sauce was a bit bland for my palette. But it didn't matter much it was tasty.
I ordered a Chicken Tikka Biryani and again the portion size was more than enough for 2 people.
Our total bill was around 2200. And I feel it was all in all a good experience.
Only downside being the server being a bit too smart. Servers are generally preferred to be humble but he did talk back to us when we complained about being made to wait for over 30 to 40 minutes for our food even when only one other table was there at...
Read moreLocation of the restaurant was the main parameter which attracted me to visit at least once. As we enter inside it gives a great view through glass windows from the 14th floor. It is at two mins walking distance from Sanpada railway station. All the tables were arranged so well and the seating arrangement done was really comfortable. I already had heard many positives about the place from my friends so my expectations were a little high before visiting which got totally fulfilled in each and every aspect.
Service was very quick, all the attendants were expeditious. Coming to the delicacies I tried :
Mocktails -
Coco Jumbo: Astonishing drink. They use coconut water to make this and also presented in a shell of that coconut. first time ever I had so nutritious drink with a delightful taste. Must try
#Peach Passion: Something really distinctive, the drink had a perfect amount of sour, sweet, soda. The main ingredient which made it so unique was chia seeds.
#Safed Hathi(Pina colada): Usual drink yet made it uniquely.
Appetizers-
#Paneer Papdi: Soft, pristine Paneer was covered with roasted papad and deep fried. Enjoyed each bite with crisp covering and fresh Paneer.
#Cheese cornball: Common dish but my one of favourite. Well sized cheesy, crispy balls.
#Mushroom pudhina tikka: Stuffed mushrooms were so amazing. I am not that mushroom lover but this dish made me change my view towards mushrooms. A presentation was excellent.
#Cottage cheese BBQ pepper: Thin square pieces of fresh paneer were tossed in BBQ sauce with veggies.
Mains-
#Kadai Paneer: Thick gravy was containing adequate pieces of paneer. we ordered it with siders #Roti ki tokri: this was containing assorted rotis (naan, laccha paratha, and missi roti).
#Veg biryani: Quantity along with quality and fulfilment of all needs of a tongue.
Desserts-
#Assorted kulfi : Most recommended. One full circle made using small triangles of different flavours of kulfis.
#Anguri gulab jamun: Gulab jamun were soft with...
