Read moreMe & my husband keep visiting this lounge very often..may be since last 2 years now coz I love the food here. Yesterday i.e 17th July,18 between 18:00 hrs- 19:38 hrs we were here to celebrate on one of our achievements. I specifically went there coz they offer 20% discount on food viz a good deal. All this while there was no music being played so we happened to ask one of the managers..to which the manager replied that the DJ wasn't there hence they weren't playing the music & no one else was allowed to touch the music system. In this conversation another manager who was a banquet manager happened to interfere in between & had a different reason that there was a technical error in music system. From no where he just came in between with with an attitude full of ego, red eyes completely drunk, totally rude saying directly on our face that it's up to you whether you want to sit or you may leave. It was obvious that we had reacted to them as 2 managers standing besides each other giving 2 different statements. Of course we couldn't tolerate this banquet manager who called himself Dilip ( we know that this wasn't his name & he was lying) . With all anger controlled we asked him to leave from our table..he still had that audacity to back answer us & asking us to leave. "I mean 'wow' on what a fantastic note our celebration came to an end". We were asked to leave from the lounge by a manager who presented himself as if he was the owner of Upper Deck. & When my husband went to talk to him out of the restaurant..the manager pounced on him. Being a hotelier a very simple question to the management sitting in the head office ( we don't know where it is) why do u recruit such unprofessional, drunkard managers. Do you even check whether such people are literates or at least SSC pass? We were just on the verge to call the police. Even the other table's guest supported us as they knew what kind of a uneducated person was arguing with us. In all this chaos one more surprise to us was to not get our discount on the bill. At least the one who handled our situation the DJ extended the courtesies to offer us an extra drink (which we denied) & later the discount was given when we crossed question. Of course there's no question of revisiting this place again even if it's the last place on earth viz serving food. Somehow came to know that the banquet manager was asked to leave this work place long back..& maybe he is on his notice period or something hence we are concluding that what all he did was on a purpose..so that no guests should revisit upper deck... Higher management kindly look into...
Read morePeaceful place... Nice food and hospitality!.. this 4 star was the review given by me 6 years back
Change to 1 star review! Visited again with a big gang of 39 women on International Women's Day, 8th March 2025.
The reason we chose this place, though the buffet was slightly higher priced than other locations we checked, was: This place's proximity to our residence, The other reason that they were offering this AC place solely to us for the event along with a DJ. It was the manager's suggestion, ( we had asked for open space) One more reason was the warmth with which one of the owners, Aditi, spoke to us. We were told that the place is owned by 2 females... That clicked for us big time.
The evening went well.. Service was ok, not poor. The staff were very cooperative. Food was nothing unusually great worth mentioning though..
However, The biggest put down that day was one of the other owners, a bearded middle aged fellow and his super foul mouthed wife.
The point of concern for us organisers was that they did not serve one item that was prior decided on the menu. On pointing this, the manager agreed there was a mistake and that they will not charge for that item, but this owner guy and his wife did not like us pointing out and spoke to us so poorly. He kept saying we were trying to make a big issue out of nothing so that we can get some discount from them...
We NEVER asked for any discount from them. We just wanted to know how they could miss one item... The whole responsibility of event was on us, as organisers, and that they being in the service industry, they should have taken care.
But this foul mouthed guy insulted us so badly; he did not allow anyone else to speak. He kept saying he is the whole owner.. he refused to divulge his name.
In the end, we paid the entire amount, even for the item they did not serve along with an appropriate tip to the support staff..
This shameless owner guy accepted the whole amount without any remorse.
Now, given this ordeal as is, one can make a decision whether to choose this...
