The authenticity is well shown by its' ambiance and splendid Chinese cuisine, is a personification of Royal China. The outlet is immensely located on the last floor of Eros Corporate Tower, Nehru Place and undoubtedly it showcases a spectacular panoramic view of South Delhi. With a black fine theme at the interior and a fine dine seating, the restaurant is an absolute preference for office meetings and delicate parties.

The outlet is truly well maintained in terms of the Hospitality. With a fine luxurious space and exposure to an immensely blissful overlook of Lotus Temple, Metros and even the JLN Stadium from so high, it is inevitably suitable to sit near to the open view. Leisure Business meetings and High-quality dinner experience can be simply attained at a fraction of the cost of a five-star hotel.

Moving to food, we had tried their renowned Dimsums and South-China specialties which are an utmost preference.

In FOOD we had,

➊ CHICKEN DRY CHILI.

A perfect Chinese delight of Chicken finely cooked with Soy and chili sauce added with lots of Red Chilis, Sesame seeds, peanuts and other veggies. The spiciness quotient was very much balanced and chicken felt quite flavorful.

➋ PORK DRY CHILI.

The preparation was the same as chicken dry chili, except pork was added in this variant. The pork was nice and crisp and was adequately added. The texture was very pleasing.

➌ CRABMEAT DUMPLING.

As pleasing as it looked, it tasted amazing as well. The crabmeat was utterly supple and smooth in texture. The presentation was really drooling. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

➍ FRIED PRAWN CIGARS.

The super crunchy cigars were fresh in taste with a subtle prawn content inside. The Prawn had no taste on its own, which felt like a need for improvement.

➎ EGG FRIED RICE.

Egg, the staple element was perfectly blended with the aromatic fried rice. The texture was simple and the dish finely accompanied with most of the main course. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

➏ FLAMING FISH.

The concept of Flambé is utilized in the dish, wherein the container lid is flamed, which didn't please much because of the food content being covered. Fish tasted drooling except the salty quotient was a factor which felt could have been really better.

DESSERTS.

➐ BAKED CUSTARD BUNS.

The classic sweet buns, perfectly balanced in taste and finely baked with a golden texture. The taste was eventually quite delightful but a slight dryness in the filling felt unpleasing.

➑ APPLE IN TOFFEE FRITTERS.

Tasted really divine! The dessert was served hot and that made it absolutely commendable. The apple blended into the batter inside was splendid in taste and as an added charm the sesame seeds topped on the coating made it utterly delightful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

In DRINKS we had,

➊ APPLE CINNAMON TANGO.

Fresh red and green apple mixed with Mint and topped with club soda. A very subtle and perfect blend of apple syrup and cinnamon influenced really well in the overall taste. The drink was presented well and altogether it was really refreshing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

➋ RED WHINE SANGRIA.

Classic red wine infused with apple pieces. Although the very much distinctive aspect of the drink was the apple pieces were unusually cut in bigger slices.

➌ BOURBON BOULEVARDIER.

A refreshing combination of Bourbon, Angostura, Campari, finished with Cherry Liqueur. Borboun usually dominates in any drink in which it gets added, but this one was overwhelmingly bittered which even interfered with the fine taste of Borboun somehow.

➍ MOSCOW MULE.

Vodka infused with Ginger Beer. The classic infusion of Vodka added with Ginger beer, Mint, Lime juice and garnished with a slice of lime. Admirably no certain gimmick and just the original classic rejuvenating taste. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

With an amazing food journey, the experience in terms of service was really satiating. The staffs were quite humble, courteous with feedback and with recommendations...

A Royal Affair at Royal China, Chanakya Mall

There are few places in Delhi that truly live up to their name, and Royal China is undoubtedly one of them. Tucked away in the lower ground floor of The Chanakya Mall in Chanakyapuri, this restaurant has long been a go-to for those seeking an authentic and refined Chinese dining experience.

Founded by Aashita Relan Marwah, Royal China has built a stellar reputation as a culinary haven for food enthusiasts. With its elegant ambiance, vast menu, and exquisite flavors, the restaurant effortlessly transports you to a world of indulgence.

Having heard so much about Royal China's dedication to authenticity, I finally decided to experience it for myself. The moment I stepped in, the warm lighting and subtle oriental décor set the tone for what promised to be an unforgettable meal.

The space exudes understated luxury, making it perfect for both intimate dinners and grand celebrations. Adding to the charm is the ever-changing seasonal cocktail menu, perfectly curated to complement the flavors of the dishes, no matter the time of year.

But what truly sets Royal China apart is its culinary craftsmanship, led by Head Chef Raj Kurre, who has been with the restaurant since its grand opening in 2010. His expertise shines through in every dish, but nowhere is it more evident than in their legendary dim sums—a cornerstone of their menu. Each bite showcases precision, high-quality ingredients, and an undeniable commitment to authenticity.

My Culinary Experience

Appetizers

I started my meal with the Prawn Cheung Fun, delicate steamed prawns wrapped in silky rice paper and drizzled with a light soy sauce. The texture was smooth, and the flavors were clean yet indulgent.

Next up was the Chicken Dumpling in Chilli Oil, a dish that delivered the perfect balance of spice and umami. The dumplings were soft and flavorful, while the chili oil added a gentle heat that lingered pleasantly.

To round off the appetizers, I tried the Salt and Pepper Prawns—crispy, golden-fried prawns seasoned to perfection. This dish had the ideal crunch and was a delightful contrast to the softer textures of the dumplings and Cheung Fun.

Mains

For the main course, I went for the Hong Kong Street Style Noodles, a bowl of soft noodles tossed in a rich soy, chili, and garlic sauce. Each bite was comforting, packed with deep, umami flavors that made it impossible to stop eating.

The showstopper of the night, however, was the Braised Pork Belly—a sweet, melt-in-your-mouth Belgian pork belly dish served with soft mantou buns. The pork was incredibly tender, with a beautiful caramelized glaze that paired beautifully with the airy, pillowy buns. It was a dish that truly showcased the depth and finesse of Chinese cuisine.

Final Thoughts

Royal China isn't just a restaurant—it's an experience. From the moment you walk in, everything from the ambiance to the food and service is designed to make you feel like royalty. The generous portion sizes, the thoughtfully curated menu, and the impeccable execution of each dish make it clear why this restaurant has stood the test of time.

Whether you're a seasoned guest or visiting for the first time, Royal China should be high on your list for an authentic and refined Chinese dining experience.

I walked out of Royal China that evening already planning my next visit—because once you've tasted their food, there's...

Dining on the top floor (16th floor) of the building gives you the feeling of being in Mumbai in the skyscrapers . With a top view of Metro station, metro trains can be seen crawling like snakes and a beautiful view of the Lotus Temple. A panoramic view of this part of Delhi is whats on offer through the glasses at this Restaurant. Interiors are inspired by black and white theme with It has a reverse E shape lay out with kitchen in the centre area . A smoking area has been built in one corner . Dimly lit Classy Interiors. As we were ordering the beverages the main server introduced us to the bar person to help us with the selection which otherwise would have been done by the regular person who takes care of the food orders . The bar person came and explained in detail each drink that we sought to order. Full marks here for this

I opted for OLD FASHIONED which was a whiskey based aromatic bitter and brown sugar combined, turned out to be perfect.. ..

Coming to the food, we ordered :

Chicken Coriander Soup Veg Mushroom Soup

Roast Pork Puff Dimsum Non Veg Platter Edmame Trufle Dumpling Seafood Dumpling Wild Mushroom Dumpling Prawn and Mushroom Dumpling Chicken and Chive Dumpling Crab Meat Dumpling Chicken Vietnamese Spring Rolls Crispy aromatic Duck Steam Rice Lamb with Ginger Spring Onons Chocolate Mud Cake Honey Noodles

Chicken Coriander Soup Complimenting flavors from lemon, ginger and chilies, and soft cooked chicken made a flavor that definitely increased my appetite to eat more. Roast Pork Puff There’s just something about the marriage of puff pastry, sweet roast pork and sesame seeds that works really well for my taste buds. Wrapped in a slightly sinful yet heavenly pastry puffs this was a perfect start to the meal. Vietnamese Spring Rolls A refreshing change from the usual fried variety great as a cool summertime appetizer. Ingredients were perfectly wrapped Banh Trang which need to be moistened otherwise they are brittle, the chef needs to master the perfect timing of moisturizing the rice paper. Also known as Summer Rolls as they are served either at room temperature or cold at some restaurants. Here at Royal China were served at room temperature.

Crispy Aromatic Duck If you’re not familiar with crispy duck (as I was before this meal) then you’ve got a treat waiting for you, that’s for sure! Duck seemed to be marinated in a hoi-sin type marinade, steamed until tender and finally deep fried until crispy. The difference between this and the Peking Duck is that here the meat has less fat and and is drier and crispier. The server was right next to our table making live rolls, pulling apart the meat from the bones and nicely wrapping it with plum sauce, spring onions and shredded cucumber. I better stop the quacking at this point !!!

The Dimsums/Dumplings were a revelation, loved the wrappers and the colours, the ingredients were fresh and flavourful. ( Had the best Dimsum experience with these little colourful cuties . (Pics say it all) I personally liked the chocolate mud cake over the honey noodles in the sweet section.

The service was top notch and flawless.

To sum it up it was a wonderful...

Final Thoughts Royal China isn't just a restaurant—it's an experience. I walked out of Royal China that evening already planning my next visit—because once you've tasted their food, there's no going back.

Full marks here for this I opted for OLD FASHIONED which was a whiskey based aromatic bitter and brown sugar combined, turned out to be perfect.. .. Coming to the food, we ordered : Chicken Coriander Soup Veg Mushroom Soup Roast Pork Puff Dimsum Non Veg Platter Edmame Trufle Dumpling Seafood Dumpling Wild Mushroom Dumpling Prawn and Mushroom Dumpling Chicken and Chive Dumpling Crab Meat Dumpling Chicken Vietnamese Spring Rolls Crispy aromatic Duck Steam Rice Lamb with Ginger Spring Onons Chocolate Mud Cake Honey Noodles Chicken Coriander Soup Complimenting flavors from lemon, ginger and chilies, and soft cooked chicken made a flavor that definitely increased my appetite to eat more. To sum it up it was a wonderful culinary experience.
