DEXTER'S — Restaurant in Odisha

Would I recommend Dexter's?..Probably yes.

We visited Dexter's for lunch today. We ordered quite a few dishes. As you can make out from the bill whose pic I have shared. I was disappointed with both the chicken dishes which we ordered. Tandoori Murgh and the Chicken Tikka Masala had uncooked chicken. And the masala was bitter. Ever since I landed up at Cuttack I was dying to taste Tandoori Chicken...And I was disappointed. I am sure there would be other places in Cuttack where they make better Tandoori Chicken... Coming from Mumbai, where we are used to chicken dishes from Lucky's, Shalimar and Kareem's we take them for granted.

The other items which we ordered here were good . The masala Kulcha was crispy and had just the right amount of masala inside and butter coating outside. The Dal Tadka was perfect. The honey and Chilly potatoes were yummy and left us wanting more.

The ambience is good..They have kind of made it like a prison. The service was a bit slow. Considering that it was a Monday afternoon, and we were the only customers, we expected...

This place is infested with cockroaches climbing up to your food table, running across the floor, climbing up and down your plate. When complained about it, the waiter did apologize and we were already more than halfway with the food when we noticed. We stopped eating there. Asked the waiter to take away our plates. Did not create fuss. It was a genuine complain but then came the bill. It was billed for the exact amount of the food. Now, that's not how it happens. It's not about discounting the food but a good business practice for the owner to be apologetic and promising to fix this next time. That's basic courtesy for people whose restaurant is infested with cockroaches. The guy behind the counter was trying to hide his face when the waiter went to him with the complain. As soon as I signalled him for the bill after waiting too long for them to walk and apologize, he bought the exact bill. I paid, walked out and never walking in again. Why pay dearly for...

I ordered Chilli Chicken, Devils Chicken, and Tandoor Roti at Dexter. The taste of the Chilli Chicken was delightful, with crispy chicken pieces that added to its appeal. However, the Devils Chicken did not meet my expectations; the chicken was overly soft, indicating overcooking, although the gravy was satisfactory.

Regrettably, my dining experience was marred by the unprofessional behavior of the attendant. Despite my meal not being finished, they persistently inquired if I was done. This behavior was both irritating and disrespectful. It seemed apparent that their intention was to rush me through my meal and vacate the table for other patrons. It is important to recognize that each individual has their own pace of eating, and such pressure should not be imposed upon customers. Giving 1 star for...
