Will share some instances of my recent worse experience. Recently I have visited Malva with the expectation of having a better experience of food but it just happened the opposite. I have ordered Mutton Dum biryani which costs Rs.599 and in return I got just plain fried rice with a mix of mutton curry (as biryani) which is termed as DUM Biryani per Malva executives. When I raised the concern they came back with the answer that this is the type of biryani that is available there and how it is prepared, adding mutton curry mixing with fried rice. Then when the talking turned into small arguments then they brought the chef into a picture who offered me a plate of mutton curry but I just did not accept that as already they have not provided the quality of food (biryani) and also we are already done with the food (experiencing the expectations). Meanwhile when we asked them to deduct some price, again some arguments gone with one of the executives who advised me "Sir there were no more than one mutton piece and enough rice present on your plate" so that we can take that from your plate and showcase the wastage and throw it into the dustbin and should deduct the whole price of biryani. I don't know how they would have taken our plate that we are already not completed eating and also there were other items present in the plate. Then when I point a question that people are not getting food to eat and you are talking about to waste the food just to showcase wastage when he was just having one same point "We have to show wastage" . Some of the executives should have that etiquette before saying that we should have taken your plate and waste the food to showcase the wastage, to accept the fault and make some senseless decisions with mindful of words before specifying something.
I hope someone from Malva will check this feedback and not repeat this with any other customer as the customers are having many expectations with the food with paying the...
Read moreIn the whole of Bhubaneswar, this is probably the best restaurant which was quite on point from preparation perspective - barring Dum chicken and shorba. We had bali prawn, veg manchow soup, chicken nuggets, butter garlic fish steak, makai malai kabab, paneer tikka, murgh badami shorba, daal fry, veg handi, dum chicken, garlic naan and roti.
Starters were very impressive, perfectly prepared. Bali prawn and paneer tikka were really impressive. Most places in bbsr, prepare paneer tikka in a way that they overcook the paneer, making it stretchy - but Malva was on point there. Was a bit disappointed at shorba... Shorbas don't have any chunks. That's what make them different from soups, perhaps chef here had different idea. Due to the same reason, shorba wasn't thick enough as well. Even dum murgh - it did taste good.. Whatever their preparation was. However, it wasn't authentic. It was really thick and heavy preparation and had too much of kewra essence. Butter garlic fish was great albeit salty. we had to ask for lemon to balance it. Something you don't expect. You expect the chef to taste it before plating it. The lemon soda was so sour that none of us could drink it. The service was really amazing. They were really quick and courteous. It's a must visit place though. There are very rare places in bbsr who prepare their meat/seafood as good as...

We tried Thai, Continental, Oriental and Indian (for dessert). And found all of it appealing to our senses.
For soup we had veg manchow and chicken burnt garlic. Both the soups were just excellent. My daughter usually passes on her soup to me after tasting it a bit. And when she finishes her soup on her own, it means that she has given the restaurant a thumbs up already!
Wife was on vegetarian that day do we ended up having Thai green curry. Accompanied with fried rice, it was one of the most amazing green curries we have tried in a while in this part of India.
Daughter and I gorged on their own recipe of chicken nuggets. We found it interesting as elsewhere they would be called chicken crisps! Creative and tasty as well.
The chicken steak (sizzler) was perfect as well. Just the right amount of sauces. Vegetables were just perfectly cooked.
For dessert we ordered Rasmalai a d that too was too good.
Overall a nice place to have lunch with family or friends. Hope to go out with friends as well.
Deducting one star out of five for a lone housefly that loved my glass of water. Place like this should definitely be equiped with an...
