Tried this place a few times so this is the cumulative review. This is very well renowned pure veg restaurant in this locality and is frequented by college goers and highway crowd alike. So it goes without saying that you'll have to wait for a table in peak hours. Parking is plenty though.

Food South Indian fare is a staple here. Sambar is nice. We tried that ghee roast dosa and it was very well done with different chutneys.

We also tried the wheat parotta - A little too doughy for my taste but the kurmas were absolutely lip smacking. That's two kurmas - mix veg, and Chole. Both brilliant.

Chat items - great pav bhaji and cutlet. Yet to try the rest but I'm pretty sure they're great too.

North Indian - we tried the butter naan and paneer butter masala. Both as good as any dhaba. Tangy masala and well cooked naans.

Rice - Sambhar rice was very good. You also get a veg fry with it, and so was the mushroom Biryani. Nice hyderabadi style Dum Biryani. We tried the veg fried rice and noodles which were also perfect. The pepper was subtle too and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Quantity of all these was on the lighter side.

Starters were decent portioned and tasty too.

A tip for the management - no doubt this is crowded at peak hours, but it's very badly managed. Waiting area and a dedicated person for crowd management will help. Your waiters are busy at is and it comes off like they're not helpful. Not...

Delightful Breakfast Experience at Hotel Anand

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hotel Anand, and it was nothing short of a culinary delight! The breakfast spread was a feast for the senses, offering authentic South Indian flavors that were both comforting and unforgettable.

The Aapam was light, fluffy, and perfectly paired with their creamy coconut stew. The Ghee Podi Idli was a standout—soft idlis generously coated with aromatic podi and a drizzle of ghee that melted in the mouth. The Masala Dosa was crisp, golden, and filled with a perfectly spiced potato masala, while the Idiappam was delicate and paired wonderfully with their signature kurma.

The ambiance was simple yet inviting, and the service was warm and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable.

If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to savor an authentic South Indian breakfast at Hotel Anand. Highly recommended for...

Anand Bhavan conveniently situated near the Club Mahindra Puducherry is a true delight. It boasts an impressive array of breakfast options that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Delectable food served on traditional banana leaves, including fluffy idlis, flavorful podi idlis, crispy pooris, savory dosas, tempting vadas, aromatic coffee, and a heavenly sambar. But what truly sets this place apart are the various chutneys that accompany adding a burst of flavor to every bite. And let's not forget the creamy and comforting pongal that is a must-try.

Our mornings were eagerly anticipated as we knew we'd be visiting Anand Bhavan without fail. Their signature dish, iddiyapam, is a culinary masterpiece that you absolutely should not miss when you dine here. This charming eatery has truly mastered the art of serving delicious South Indian breakfast with a warm and...
