Upsouth Karve Nagar — Restaurant in Pune

Food is good and reasonable however service is pathetic. Restaurant was not clean and mopping was done at 11.30am on sunday when customer were having their food. Full of houseflies around. I ordered cold coffee and left as it is as flies were around it. I ordered combo Malabar paratha, cold coffee with fries. Cold coffee came immediately in 5 mins. Other things took 15 mins to come.Combo is supposed to be served together. Sambar was served warm - not hot when this is supposed to be a south Indian restaurant . Irrespective of we finishing one dish, no one cared to clean the table and served other dish right away, which was the main cause of flies. Staff were talking to each other and hardly paid attention to the instructions. Had to call them 3 4 times everytime.I have took pics in interval of various time and attached here where you can see they were busy talking to each other.

Have shared my experience with the manager/owner(not sure) before leaving, however he seemed not to be much concerned. He asked how was food. Well just having only good food you can't survive without basic hygienic and basic service that one expects.

First Time Visit * This was my first time visiting UpSouth. Honestly i was not that impressed with the food. We tried the Ghee Masala Dosa and the Dosa Combo on their menu. The ambiance was ok. Their kitchen counter was clean and tidy so that was an impressive part for sure. The staff was really good and cooperative. The sitting area was limited but clean so I was okay with it. Once you place the order they give you a coupon and get your order on the table. Now let's talk about the main content , The Food ! Dosa was really good and crispy as it is expected to be. But the Sambar was not so good for me. I personally prefer the sambar with more mixed taste. Chutneys were ok too. In the combo we got one dosa and mini idlis with sambar and chutney. Mini idlis were good. Soft and spongy. We got a glass of buttermilk which was great in taste. I was having a toothache so I did not go for an authentic filter coffee , i tried a cold coffee instead which was good. Overall the food was ok but I have tried much better and tasty South Indian food so they really need to improve the taste and the quality.
