This is the worst possible place to buy mithai from and I have a list of reasons why. My mother and I visited the shop a day before Karva Chauth to buy some mithai. Based on the reputation and our frequent visits to its Amritsar branch, we had very high hopes and had been eagerly waiting for it to open. We asked for two boxes of mixed mithai, and requested that Karachi halwa be swapped for pinni. Upon coming home, we noticed that not only was the mithai NOT exactly 900 grams (for which we were charged, it was only 820 grams) but they had added suji ladoo instead of what we requested. The mithai in the box was unremarkable and completely tasteless. The taste of ghee was not evident at all, and by taste, it seemed like they had used substandard cooking oil and ingredients for their mithai. The gulab jamun was raw from the inside and the kalakand and milk cake and coconut barfi all tasted the same - I don’t need to tell you that they shouldn’t be the same.
We also bought small namkeen samosas. In the shop light, they looked good but at home, we found that they were undercooked and very white (unlike the golden colour of well-fried/roasted mathi).
In my opinion, the shop is overpriced and their mithai is undercooked and provides no value for money. Please avoid this shop for the upcoming Diwali season and for any and all seasons. It’s not worth going to. Try Lovely or Bikaner. We are so disappointed...

Read moreI recently visited Ghanshyam Sweets and was quite disappointed. It's clear that they are trying to mimic the name and reputation of the OG Bansal Sweets in our city Amritsar, but they fall short in every aspect. The quality of their sweets is nowhere near the authentic taste and freshness we are used to from the original shop. It feels like a cheap imitation rather than a tribute.
Moreover, the service was subpar, and the ambiance lacked the warmth and charm that makes the original Bansal Sweets so special. It's unfortunate that they are trying to ride on the coattails of a well-established and beloved brand instead of creating their own identity and maintaining high standards.
I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine and delicious sweets. I will always stick to the original Bansal Sweets for an authentic and...
