Syah Udaipur — Restaurant in Rajasthan

If you're looking for a Michelin-type of food well this is the place for you. Out of the rooftop restaurants in Udaipur Syah has the most stunning view for dinner to be honest (wish they would open from sunset though). Love the ambiance and location (right inside our hotel Odai Kothi). They provide 4-course and 8-course meal which comes at 1200 INR and 2000 INR respectively. Quality over quantity but trust me it's worth it. They also have a wide range of drinks and not overpriced at all. My partner and I visit here 2 nights in a row and they served us with a different menu on our 2nd night. Not all restaurants would do this, to be honest, this totally surprised us (we got so excited lol). The Chef considers the overall experience of our course (execution, appearance, taste). The technicality of their dishes was just amazing (I can compare this to Noma). Their waiters are polite and professional (I could not finish my course so they consider serving me my dessert instead). Everything is just great. Overall this place is so stunning and super chill. "My recent dinner at Syah Restaurant in Udaipur was a culinary adventure! The 11-course tasting menu was a treat, with each dish showcasing the chef's creativity and skill. Though the route to the restaurant could be more inviting, the experience inside made up for it.

The food was exceptional, with bold flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who guided me through each course.

Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the restaurant's decor, which felt a bit plain and could benefit from some additional touches. However, the food and service quickly won me over.

At around ₹4000 per person, it's a splurge, but one that's worth making. I'd highly recommend Syah Restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience in Udaipur.

We have no words for how incredible this experience - truly the greatest dining experience we have had in our years of travel throughout India. The quality of seasonal ingredients, incredible food, and OUTSTANDING hospitality has left us all in awe. It is rare to see Indian food presented in such a creative manner, only otherwise available at a spot like Indian Accent. However, Syah far surpassed Indian accent in both fresh thought, infusing traditional Indian ingredients with refined, Michelin level flair. Of note was the incredible warm plum brown butter dish; our table was in collective disbelief. My mother briefly mentioned she enjoyed the tea at dinner, and they then presented us with a complimentary gift bag full of the tea mix at the end of the dinner.
