We went to taste their kachouri/daal puri/ radha ballavi as heard good from few people. Actually I was influenced after seeing a vlog of an elderly couple who visited this place along with his tour Rajpur and Boral. They referred Bandhan in their vlog. Since my returning back to kolkata I was missing famous foods of road side shop/stalls of North Kolkata, who are still famous for their age old patent items. After driving few kilometers we reached at the stall near three point crossing before Sonarpur Rail Station. Few customers were already eating puris at the stall. I found it is Daalpuri( not kachouri). He stocked more than 100 pieces of daal puri in a container which he might have fried few hours ago. So it was cold and naturally getting dust on it as it was not covered and the stall is just beside the busy road. The puri contained enough daal in it but blunt in taste. I have taken tasty daal puri in other places before. The maker did not try to enhance the taste of it. So to me it was below par. He serves little aloo chhole curry along with puri. It is complementary. Per piece costs Rs.10. The aloo chhole curry was absolutely third graded. A smell was coming out of it because of cheap oil used. I felt that the owner of that stall has no interest in making his food good and tasty. This is because of senseless rating by few customers. I therefore request everyone to a give justified rating to a food. It will compel the owner to look at his negative points and to...
Read moreWould love to give it 5 stars.. Giving 3 instead.. I'll tell the reason. Being from sonarpur, I am having the food here since many many years.. Liked it very much back in the days. But now just couple of days back it felt a bit overrarted! They have increased their price to the peak but the কচুরি has become more and more oily and the তরকারি not so good. People sing the praises of this considering it as a heritage of some sort.. But they literally failed to maintain food quality. Also I would like to point out the customer interaction is not at all good here. They should get more young guys in the shop to manage the large amount of crowd which becomes really...
