December and drizzling rain; bizzare combination, right? What's even more bizzare is that you crave mughlai (especially biryani) and end up at the doorstep of this Chinese restaurant..!
Well, to start, the gentleman at the door was really nice. He took our names and opened the door. Then we were welcome into the beautiful inside of this place. I loved the decor and the music. The menu card was a bit unorthodox (in the shape of a desk calendar). We ordered "Takrai Chicken" as a starter and what a start it was! The vague smell of lemon leaves ( গন্ধরাজ লেবুপাতা) was quite a flavor! Then "Burnt garlic mixed fried rice" ( comprising of both prawn and chicken) was served with "Bulgogi chicken". The food was really enjoyable, the servings were ample and the ambience was just perfect. The amount was more than adequate so leftovers were packed. Overall the budget was quite pocket friendly ( ₹915/-, to which 20% discount was added, making it ₹769/- with GST). I must say the dining experience was worth my money.
Above all, the staffs were very courteous and efficient; they know how to serve a picky customer without bothering his privacy! It was really beyond my expectation and I'm sincerely grateful to them. The place is also very hygenic (restroom was clean) and the parkings were also devoid of any sign of garbage.
To conclude, Shanghai can be a good option if you're into...
Read moreThe food quality compared to other Sanghai outlets is poor... They use almost the same sauce for starters, main course and salads. Absolutely no difference. Upon asking the service associate tries to manipulate by saying different other things to the guest. They only change the main flavour (i.e., basil, garlic, lemongrass etc) in the same sauce base. Talking of the buffet that is currently running across all its outlets, they don't have any buffet spread, instead they serve all the food as per quantity on the table. Because they don't have a ready buffet for walking guests, the waiting time is higher. The ambience is okay okay. I personally felt the service associates were humble but they didn't follow basic hygiene because one of the associates was very stinky when he was coming to the table to serve food. I literally had to hold my breath when he was coming. The manager should be more careful with this matter as he was working in a restaurant where people come to lounge and enjoy food not only with good food but also with fresh and healthy ambience. Also, they don't check the crockery while serving as I noticed some of the serving dishes were chipped from the edges. In my experience, the weekend buffet price for non-veg (799/- + gst) doesn't worth it as compared to the food quality and menu. One will get way better chinese menu options with better...
Read moreIt's the newly opened outlet of famous SHANGHAI FLAVOURS OF CHINA TOWN at Sonarpur, Kolkata.
It's a Chinese themed restaurant with a cozy ambience & calming instrumental music playing in the background. Really nice atmosphere.
We ordered- *Pad thai kung nang (it's a flat noodles, tasted really good) ❤️ *Bulgogi chicken (quite a unique flavor, it was really delicious & it 10 pieces also☺️) *2 scoops of Vanilla ice cream (it was complimentary dish, thanks for this🌚)
The food quality and quantity was top notch. 1 plate of noodles was more than sufficient for two persons. Both the items tasted really good.
They had also given us two scoops ice-cream as a complimentary dish. As we were among the very first customers of this outlet ☺️❤️
Staff behaviour was extremely good.
Pocket pinch- 550 to 800 for two(approx)
