My recent visit to Ka:Khim was a fantastic experience, especially compared to my last visit, where I had a few concerns. The improvements are truly noticeable, making it a welcoming and enjoyable place to dine.
Ambience & Atmosphere The warm, cozy, and inviting decor sets the perfect tone for a relaxed meal. The semi-outdoor seating offers plenty of fresh air and a gentle breeze, enhancing the overall experience. The traditional decor adds an authentic touch, making the space visually appealing and comfortable.
What We Ordered & Loved Chicken Steamed Momos โ Juicy and light, paired with a flavorful chutney that had the right kick of spice. Pork Ti:po โ Soft, fluffy, and generously stuffed. The pork fat and fresh greens made it incredibly juicy. The fermented aroma from the yeast was noticeable but didn't overpower the dish. The boiled egg surprise inside was unexpected but interesting! Chicken Phaley with Extra Cheese โ Crispy and crunchy on the outside with lightly flavored filling. However, the extra cheese was barely noticeable. Pork Jhol Momos โ A flavorful and satisfying dish. The broth was mild, not as spicy as expected, but the combination of sesame seeds, curry-flavored broth, and juicy momos was delightful. Oreo Milkshake โ Just average, could have been richer and creamier. Service & Other Highlights โ๏ธ Freshly prepared food โ Takes time, but they inform you beforehand, and itโs worth the wait. โ๏ธ Value for money โ Generous portions at reasonable prices. โ๏ธ Better-maintained washrooms โ A noticeable upgrade. โ๏ธ Dedicated spaces for smokers and non-smokers โ A great touch for customer comfort.
Final Verdict Ka:Khim has truly stepped up its game! The upgraded ambience, fresh and flavorful food, and improved facilities make it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a hearty meal. Highly recommended! Old Review A very small place, that ideally won't attract a passerby, unless you are really looking for this place, so it's an absolute gem for authentic Tibetan and Indo-Chinese food lovers.
The food was amazing, especially the Tibetan ones. The tastes are unique and flavorful, especially their spicy dishes have a unique pungent aftertaste.
The few things we were not happy about is, The place to sit, the interior one was decent and nice, but cramped while the outdoor seating is stools, as well as it's smoking joint, so you are just inhaling the smoke throughout. The wait for the food is quite long compared to regular restaurants coz they have only one chef who is literally making all dishes, so don't arrive to this place hungry Their beverages options are sad, you just have tea, coffee and lime juice. No soft drinks or mocktails. I was hoping for a few Tibetan drinks. Their washroom is in a very bad situation, while the hand washing area, you might not want to wash your hands again
Overall I would rather take a takeaway than dine in,...
ย ย ย Read moreThe only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. The service is mediocre. One of the lady in this place was very rude. This is the only place in Siliguri so far that I experienced this type of treatment to the customer. I asked to connect to the bluetooth speaker to play some music in a polite manner and the lady could have just declined in a polite way but she said some rude things which was very surprising because I have never experienced this anywhere in Siliguri. They always let the customer play songs or decline in a polite manner and give reasonable causes for why they don't allow certain things in the venue. Food was alright. Had a peach iced tea (which tasted like mango juice), ting momo and chicken syapta. I think the only reason why this place is surviving is because of it's location (just between Pradhan Nagar and Gurung Busty), it's aesthetics (got a nice nepalese/tibetan vibes to the place) and most of the crowd consisted of young people with a bustling vibe (the place was packed with young men and mostly women). If the service doesn't improve then it will go down the drains. If you read this review, consider a revision in the management and how to speak to the customers. Of course, we as customers are not entitled to act like we own the place but a little courtesy goes a long way. Especially if a customer is asking permission in a polite way. This review is not meant to be taken in a negative way. I like the place. Just please consider my review as a...
ย ย ย Read moreWell for a start all the side dishes tasted more or less the same however they all had fancy tags . The noodle was over boiled, smelly and cluttered, I couldn't even finish the dish before I finally threw it to the place where it actually belonged "THE DUSTBIN". I know and acknowledge the effort which goes into preparing a particular dish but when someone is paying for it , there has to be some standard which should better be maintained for example never ever one should use a stale item for the sake of just utilising and encashing it , the noodle was certainly one of such items. I truly regret ordering from here, and truly disgusted by the chef's mentality. One star because there is no more inferior rating...
