Location: within a lane of prashan nagar. The vibes are calm, pleasant and border line vintage. The seating arrangements are properly organized, there an indoor arrangement and another outdoor one. The outdoor one is divided into smoking and non smoking sections for convenience.
Synopsis: very kind and well mannered staff, they will greet you and answer all your queries. The bill during check out was given to us around 10-15 minutes late but i suppose that was just because of some unavoidable situation. The washrooms are clean and spacious. They don't have mirrors for individual stalls but have a common one just outside.
Food: 1. Café Latte 140INR : Nothing extraordinary about it, nothing extremely bad about it too. It's just a regular cafe latte. The foam was impressive. This is my subjective opinion but i was expecting a little coffee art . It was a 4/5 .
Cold Coffee 150INR : served in a tall glass with pre drizzled chocolate , chilled blend of coffee and milk absolutely refreshing,
Chicken Steamed Dim Sum 130INR : very delicate layer of flour engulfing the chicken stuffing. Serves the purpose of being called momos. The umami fills up your olfactory senses once you take the first bite. It's served with tomato and chilli condiment, the fresh smell of the vegetables compliments the rich taste of the momos.
Kiwi Cooler 140INR : a summer time refreshment with carbonated water and kiwi flavours filled with ice.
Grilled Sausages in BBQ Sauce 200INR : this one was unfortunately a dis appointment. They plating was majestic but the sausages were just heated not grilles, just regular grocery store sausages. The were not really grilled in the sauce but just served with the sauce also, the sauce tasted like ketchup with black pepper. It was served with mashed potatoes with cilantro leaves but it tasted bland. Overall I'll rate it 1/5 and not really recommend.
The bill was 760INR + 2.5%SGST...
Read moreFirst of all I always visit this place and the main reason is waiters are really friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is very pleasant. I’m not one to complain but today I ordered chicken momo steamed and they served me half cooked chicken. I couldn’t understand it then but after 30 mins or so I’ve been having very bad food poisoning. Never will be visiting this restaurant again. Please don’t serve your customers uncooked meat. This is pathetic and unacceptable. Be honest. If the wait time is long, be honest and let us know. That’s how you build a relationship. Very disappointed.
I also wanted to add that I had ordered an iced cappuccino but the waitress served me an iced latte. It was too watery to be ruled out as cappuccino. I didn’t say anything again because I felt bad and she asked me how the drink was. It’s okay, the drink was okay. And I told her that. Being in customer service is a very very difficult job and I understand that. I’m sure she’s had a handful today so I didn’t want to add to that. But the chef needs to realise that the place solely doesn’t run by cute lights and aesthetic seating arrangement. The restaurant runs 90% because of its food.
I don’t have a pic of the food cuz I don’t click pictures of my food. But thanks for...
Read moreIt was my first visit to the wood apple.
Items ordered: Fresh lime soda. Non-veg spring roll Wood Apple pizza.
Food was pathetic. It is funny and sad that most cafes in Siliguri are unaware how fresh lime soda’s made. I ordered non-veg spring rolls, all I got is cabbage and other veggies stuffed. Non-veg? Did not have a microscope unfortunately. The pizza - please remove it from the menu. I do not suggest it to anyone, nor do I suggest this place.
SERVICE:
There were 2 girls doing the service and one man sitting at the counter inside. All busy talking. To get their attention and seek help, you either need to get out of your seats and ask them, or you better wait until they mistakenly look at you so that you can wave at them and seek help.
The spring roll was served. The lady helper left. No plates, no cutleries. I asked for plates. She helped and went. I asked for cutleries. 🤣 she helped and went back. So I realised you had to spoon-feed the basics to the staffs or else this pathetic service shall continue.
I am very sorry to say, I shall never step...
