Adyar Ananda Bhavan - A2B — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This is one of the franchises of the famous A2B chains of restaurants & sweets on the Hosur to Salem high way.

Location - In Hosur-Krishnagiri Highway, exactly in between them - follow google maps

Parking - Enough parking space for any number of cars. 👍

Service is - Getting bad ☹️ deteriorating every time I visit, from table service it became a self service (take coupons from the cash counter standing in a line & go to serving counter and wait, and then bring the food once its ready to the table) fast food kind of restaurant. And the servers do not seem to have the attitude to serve. Due to huge demand this branch is taking customers lightly.

Ambience - is ok, chairs are closely packed and people waiting near to you to find place to sit is a pathetic scene. No one to guide/control the crowd/customers roaming around for a seat. 😠

Cleanliness - is ok - Tables, kitchen, wash basin looked ok.

Menu - serves authentic south indian breakfast / tiffin items as well as north-indian, chineese and other cuisines depending upon the time.

Taste - The high quality break fast items are very tasty, this is the only reason to go there again and again adjusting to the poor service. The dosa/idli items served with 3 different kinds of chutney and sambar is a delight. The vada and pongal are awesome. Always end with the filter coffee 😀

A2B sweets shop is also inside like their other resturants for any purchase of savouries and all kinds of sweets. There is a ok maintained restroom on the outside and a small kids play area.

Actually this is a sort of plaza with more shops, including A2B and Star Biriyani.

There are many other good restaurants on this way now offering better service and food...

This branch is located along the Hosur-Krishnagiri highway, and signboards are placed every kilometer, starting 5 kilometers before the restaurant. It’s very visible from the highway.

This is a pure vegetarian restaurant. There’s plenty of parking space available. Since I visited early in the morning, there was no crowd at all.

Only table service is offered. Each table is assigned a unique number, and your bill will be linked to that number.

After placing your order, it takes around 10-15 minutes for the food to arrive, especially when the restaurant is less crowded. However, during peak hours, you can expect longer wait times.

Once your order is served, the waitstaff doesn't return unless you specifically call for them. Whether you need extra chutney, sambar, or the bill, you’ll have to chase them down. This aspect definitely needs improvement.

The restaurant offers a variety of fresh juices, ice creams, sweets, tea, and coffee. UPI, card, and cash payments are all accepted.

I ordered idli-vada, which cost me around ₹80, which is reasonable but may be considered expensive for middle-class customers. The ₹35 vada, in particular, doesn’t seem worth it. That said, people visit here for its brand value, hygiene, and to share pictures.

After a rather disappointing start at another restaurant, my experience at A2B was a breath of fresh air. Having visited Saravana Bhavan earlier and encountering poor service right from the first five minutes, my companions and I decided to give A2B a shot. What a great decision it turned out to be!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere at A2B was inviting, and the service was a welcome change. The staff was attentive and courteous, making us feel valued as customers. We were able to enjoy our meal without any hiccups, which was a stark contrast to our previous encounter.

The food and beverages we ordered were a true delight. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. And the sweet we tried was an absolute standout – its deliciousness is still lingering on my taste buds.

I can't help but appreciate how A2B turned our dining experience around with their great service and delectable offerings. It's clear that they prioritize customer satisfaction, and it definitely shines through in every aspect of our visit.
