We visited during the special Tamizh thiruvizha (starting 1/19/24) and was looking forward to the authentic Tamil dishes.
The good - non-veg thali was excellent, specifically the seventha nethili fry, nallam patti naatu kozhi varuval, kathirikai karuvattu kuzhambu Excellent service - we were taken very good care of by Jr Sous Chef Nandha and his team The overall setup and ambience was excellent
The bad - veg thali was definitely not worth Rs. 2200 - it was more so like pathiya saapadu, I would recommend the non-veg thali instead (it is still expensive for the dishes being served) Water - at the start of our course, we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water and I’d asked for both - I was surprised to see both being billed for. When asked, I was told that I should have asked for regular water :) - which wasn’t communicated. A small miscommunication resulted in me paying rs 550 for just water (which is crazy) This was day 1 of the thiruvizha and I was surprised to see the management had invited YouTube/Instagram influencers to share feedback. It was honestly disappointing for me to listen to their feedback when they knew nothing about Tamizh food nor...
Read moreWhile the ambience and service were really good, the food was disappointing. I went there for my 15th anniversary and was let down by the quality and taste of the food. Firstly, the menu didn't have great options. We skipped the soup and ordered malai broccoli and paneer tikka. The paneer tikka was good, but the malai broccoli was just okay in taste and seemed undercooked. When we wanted to order the main course, we tried to avoid paneer dishes to go with Indian breads, but the other options were mostly cashew nut-based dishes. Since our starters were bland, we couldn't find a good spicy dish to go with rotis. As a result, we avoided ordering rotis and opted for vegetable biryani, which turned out to be bad and stale. It did not seem fresh at all, possibly made in the afternoon or the day before. I have been experiencing stomach ache since this morning. I would not recommend this...
Read moreBowled over by Hilton trademark hospitality yet again!! Delectable lunch at the restaurant, Ayina.. So well taken care of by Pooja. She could gauge my taste and was very tactful in helping me out with the wide array of choices in the menu. And high compliments to chef murugan, who graciously came to our table and after listening to us, presented us with a divine dish, that so appropriately catered to what we could have wished for, in an absolutely satisfying meal. Chemeen as starters prepared us for an amazing culinary journey, with a masterpiece of a perfectly cooked salmon in a wonderful butter sauce served with crunchy veggies... And.. Oh yes, the skin was fried so perfectly that it crackled when cut into it... Kudos!! Special mention to the person at the front lobby who accompanied me to the restaurant. Politeness and perfect attitude. Keep it up, and may the flag of Hilton...
