Unsure of whether we should check this place out or not after looking at the recent reviews, my friend and I still chose to go with this, due to limited options and our hunger. Little did we know how interesting our lunch was gonna be.
The ambience was really good. The teal and beige colours worked well with the lights. The menu looked interesting like most cafe menus. We realised that only some of the items were available though. We ordered the chicken cheese balls, smoked chicken pasta, iced tea, and lime mint cooler.
It was strange to see that there was just one person to run the entire place at the moment and we were the only customers there. The person available stepped out to say he was gonna cook and get back, and we understood after a while that there was a kitchen at the back connected to the cafe. It looked a bit odd but we still waited a good 25 minutes for the food to be ready with low expectations.
The food was served and to our surprise it genuinely tasted good! The pasta was seasoned well, the smoked chicken was cooked well too. And it was a good main course to have. The drinks were a pleasant addition. The chicken cheese balls though flavoursome, was a lil hard but went well with the dip. The portioning was good too. Overall, we were more than satisfied with the food.
Perhaps if the prices were a bit lower it might help. And maybe adding some music can compensate the awkwardnrss of the waiting time. Apart from that we genuinely hope that this place picks up its buisness again and works on fixing what can be made better.
I remember being here 6 years back with some family, and I truly wish it can pick up the...
Read moreWe ordered Schezwan noodles, Alfredo pasta, Nutella shake. The Alfredo pasta which they served was a mix of fresh and stale old pasta which was so hard and chewy. My kid (9yrs) didn't understand and had almost half when I tasted one piece i understood it was totally stale. Then came hakka noodles while we ordered Schezwan. On being told they changed it to Schezwan by adding two dried red chilli bit some chilli flakes and totally broken noodles meaning they double fried the hakka noodles n turned into some terrible schewan noodles which looked like fried rice. Extra sweet Nutella shake without any hint of Nutella. They didn't charge me for the pasta when I showed them the hardness, but for people who love good food , serving stale food and not charging the bill for that dish doesn't help, coz I'm ready to pay double if it's good. Sad part is this place was not like this wen it opened new few years back and it was a relief that there's one good cafe in Tambaram. And now they serve very bad quality food. This is a note to the owner as i understand how hard it is to open a good restaurant and then the business goes down due to the terrible chef, the mentality of the chef to serve staled food. The careless waitress who was always on phone and couldn't serve the food well. Total disaster. Request owner to visit the place hang around with the chef and waitresses and monitor for a few days you will understand how badly your place needs...
Read moreHighly hyped place around east Tambaram.. Nestled in middle of thick residential area.. so no probs on parking.. Will definitely go again with extended family..
Positives: Ambience is chic and cozy.. well decorated and plenty of spots for selfie heads..
No complaints on the taste.. food was lip smacking andvtrue to the word FRESH and SLOW COOKED.. breads were super crispy.. pasta was brilliantly made without adding goooey cheese.. good to see no ketchup dripping from the burger.. cold milo was good as usual but with loads of crushed ice which was a turn off.. but when I gave this feedback they immediately served a replacement which had less ice and actual content... Loved both the well made drink and sensible service..
Negatives: Serving takes endless wait times.. when questioned they say it is all freshly made.. though justified you lose the appetite.. it's a trade off i say.. Way too costly for the portion served.. very basic paneer burger starts from 400+ pizzas 500+ pastas 500+ drinks 200+ A casual dinner for 2 will be 2000+ which in my opinion is the price for 2 buffets in AB or Coals.. Though I hate to say this.. there are mosquitos.. loads of them.. and they will be dining on you while you are waiting endlessly to dine..
To the management.. avoid forcing your customers to rate you 5🌟.. if you dont push them, there is a good chance they themselves will...
