I am a regular customer, mainly because I live nearby.
However, the prices have been increasing noticeably.
For comparison:
Balajee Bhavan (Shenoy Nagar) offers 2 idlis with vada curry, 3 chutneys, and sambar in an air-conditioned setting — all for ₹40.
Hotel Sri Krishna Bhavan charges the same ₹40 for 2 idlis with just 2 chutneys and sambar — no vada curry.
I recently tried the Mini Tiffin at both places:
At Balajee Bhavan: ₹95 for a full plate with idly, vada, pongal, sweet, dosa, and puri.
At Sri Krishna Bhavan: ₹100, but without puri — making it comparatively less value for money.
In today’s competitive environment, it’s important to be mindful of such differences in value.
The service quality at Sri Krishna Bhavan has also declined:
I witnessed an argument between a staff member and a customer who politely requested extra chutney for a parcel — this is not acceptable in a service-oriented business.
It appears the hotel is surviving mainly due to its proximity to a hospital and residential area.
However, once a reputed competitor opens nearby, this could significantly impact your business.
Seniors have shared that the hotel was once known for its food and decent first-floor service — unfortunately, that standard seems to have slipped.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively and encourages steps to improve both service and...
Read moreThis is one of the best place for vegetarian people. The rates are affordable and even poor people can eat with minimum of 36 rupees 3 delicious three idly with good sambar and other coconut dishes. It is in main area and near the super market and two major play schools. They dont have proper parking area for cars and bikes. But there is a street near by and front of the hotel some space for bike parking. This is main area, so you cant park near the hotel and it will create traffic. The food is good. You will get most of the vegetarian items. The quality is good, so the place always crowed. The have separate place for lunch in first floor. So tiffin items in ground floor and lunch/fried items first floor. All the rates nominal. The taste also good and hygienic. You like it...
Read moreMid level restaurant, located at the right location - a busy junction between residential and commercial roads. Has been here for at least 25 years, so must be doing good in terms of quality, taste and price. One good thing is, they still serve you on banana leaves. That shows their commitment to hygiene. Filter coffee is above average, nothing to brag about. Breakfast and tiffin items are quite good though. Their pongal is something I'm unable to forget even after long gaps.
Parking - two wheelers, kind of ok, four wheelers, not so, particularly during peak morning and evening hours.
I would rate 3.5 out of 5, however that option is unavailable here. 4 may be unfair to genuine 4-star rated joints, so...
