Kailash Parvat Restaurant Review: A Himalayan Adventure That’s Missing the Tea
Welcome to Kailash Parvat Restaurant in Vellore, where your culinary journey might just leave you more parched than a desert trek. This place promises an experience as thrilling as climbing the Himalayas, but alas, they seem to have forgotten to pack one crucial item: tea!
Step inside, and you’re greeted by an ambiance that whispers “mountain retreat”—charming decor, cozy vibes, and a tantalizing menu. But hold onto your teacups (if you brought one), because this restaurant has decided to take the “mountain” theme a bit too literally. They’ve scaled back on the tea selection to such an extent that even a Yeti would raise an eyebrow.
The menu is packed with a delightful array of snacks and chats, each more mouthwatering than the last. Imagine savoring a plate of chaat that could make you weep with joy. Now imagine doing that without a single sip of tea to wash it down. It’s like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow but realizing the rainbow doesn’t lead to a pot of tea.
Service here is as friendly as a mountaineer offering you a hand to climb—quick, efficient, and with a smile. But the staff must have taken a vow of silence on the subject of tea, because when you ask about it, you’re met with blank stares that say, “Tea? What’s that?” It’s almost as if they’re in on an inside joke about tea being an “urban legend.”
Despite the top-notch food and the lovely mountain lodge vibe, the absence of tea is like hiking up Everest and discovering your climbing gear is missing. Sure, the views are fantastic and the journey’s memorable, but you might just want to pack a thermos of tea before you venture here.
In summary, Kailash Parvat Restaurant delivers a feast worthy of any mountain explorer, but their severe lack of tea makes it feel like the adventure isn’t quite complete. If you can brave the meal without your essential tea, you’ll have a delightful time. But if you’re a tea devotee, be prepared to tackle this mountain of a meal without your trusty brew. Two stars off for the tea-less ordeal, but kudos for making us laugh all the way...

After having experienced Kailash Parbat food in multiple cities, I was keen on experiencing the ambience at Vellore branch. Very impressed with the neat and elegant interiors that the place had. Good ambience for both families and couples to have good chaat and chat. The table layouts are well planned.
We ordered food and it was the signature taste as with every other Kailash Parbat. Satisfying. But the service was pathetic. The waiter who worked there had a "I don't care about you" kind of an attitude. When we asked for tissues, he didn't even respond to that and he pointed to a single tissue that was kept in front of us. We had to call him multiple times and at few occasions he just saw through us. Either he is not interested to do his job or he has been having a rough day. But the overall experience in regards to service was very disheartening. We waited for a long time for Dabeli. This kind of a delay and a don't care attitude is maybe tolerable when the restaurant is crazy busy but when we ordered the restaurant was barely full, just a few tables were occupied.
With such a service, I believe if not turned around would cause much damage to the business. KP needs to take care of this. We left waiting and then eventually the manager had to intervene.
When I entered KP, I wanted to give it a full 5Star. But my experience with the service has earned KP Vellore only 2 Stars. I don't think I will go back or suggest...
Read moreAdded bill for reference. Always it’s the first impression that matters. Started with pani puri. I would not say it’s good or bad but just average taste for the price you pay. Then went for samosa chat not bad was good in taste. Then I ordered punjabi samosa which consists of 2 pieces ( 1 piece to eat and 1 piece for takeaway)and pav bhaji( take away)
Surprised to see the waiter giving a plate with 2 samosa to eat and as a takeaway he had another 2 samosa with Pav bhaji.
And to be honest the stuffing inside the samosa for me was not fresh and not that I expected from a restaurant like this.
The end was I was given a bill of 524 to which I paid 540 in cash. I waited for the waiter to come back and give me the bill and the balance back. But it seems the waiter decided that 14 rupees balance does not matter so he decided to keep it as a tip . I had to remind him to give me the bill and the balance . I got the bill and 20 as balance instead of 14 . I kept it as a tip which I do normally in any restaurant.
Also I noticed it was not so crowded, I can actually see more staffs of the restaurant than the customers. But still the waiter was not active and general practice of repeating an order before placing it was not followed. I actually wanted 1 punjabi samosa( 1 piece to eat and 1 piece as a takeaway along with pav bhaji). But the waiter actually placed 2 set of punjabi samosa.
Overall not a great experience and service was not up to my expectations.
Won’t return nor recommend...
