Highly Disappointing Experience at Nithya Amirtham

We recently dined at Nithya Amirtham and ordered dishes like Phulka, Dal Tadka, Poli, coffee, and veg soup. After a long wait, we finally received the veg soup, followed by the phulka and dal. Before starting, we noticed that the Dal Tadka had an unusually oily top layer, looking more like butter masala. When we asked about it, they insisted it was their standard "tadka," although it was unlike anything we had seen before.

Amidst all this, my father started eating and found a disturbing item in the dal – a hard, tooth-shaped piece that could have been plastic. Such poor quality is unacceptable from a supposedly reputable restaurant chain. When we raised our concerns, the staff simply apologized, saying “sorry,” which seems to be their standard response each time. We also ordered Chilli Gobi for takeaway, but honestly, I would have been better off ordering from a street vendor – the quality here has become that bad.

This restaurant used to be good, but now, it’s plagued by long wait times, subpar food quality, and high prices. This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues here, and it seems they’ve learned nothing from past complaints.

Disappointing Experience - Feels Like a Scam!

Visited Nithya Amirtham, Tiruvallur, with my family yesterday. We had a meal at the restaurant and also ordered "Pallipalayam Mushroom" and "Paneer Fingers" as a takeaway. However, when we got home and opened the "Pallipalayam Mushroom" dish, we were shocked. There was barely any mushroom in the dish! It was mostly filled with cauliflower (about 80% cauliflower, 20% mushroom at best). How can they justify this substitution, especially when charging such a premium price (₹260)? It feels like a blatant scam. Totally disappointed with the quality and service.

Appalling Experience at Nithya Amirtham, Thiruvallur Branch – Completely Unacceptable!

I had an absolutely horrendous dining experience at the Thiruvallur branch of Nithya Amirtham, and I’m still in shock at the level of incompetence and utter disregard for customer service. We ordered the so-called “special” lunch thali, but what we were served was nothing short of a complete disaster.

Each thali was a mismatch of random items, with no consistency or adherence to the promised menu. No Kara Kulambu, no More Kulambu—instead, they threw in mutter kurma and curd, as if that somehow makes up for the missing items. The quality of food was a joke, and it felt like they were just trying to get rid of whatever leftovers they had. Special lunch? More like a special disaster!

To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff was absolutely disgraceful. When we asked about the missing items, the bearer rudely snapped at us, saying, “What we have is what we can serve. If we don’t have it, we don’t serve it.” This kind of blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is shocking, especially from a restaurant that claims to be a reputable brand.

The entire experience was beyond frustrating, and the staff’s arrogance and lack of professionalism made it even worse. This is a complete failure on every front – from the food to the service – and it has completely tarnished the reputation of Nithya Amirtham for me.

I will never return to this branch, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it unless they want to leave as disappointed and...

The interior & the food was pretty ok. However, I would like to bring it to the management's notice that the special south Indian Thali did not have any sweet or banana. We were not informed of the missing items which was part of the thali. Infact when we asked the service person, she said that it got over for to crowd and they didn't receive the stock yet.

What really put me off was the clealiness factor. The floor is completely filthy in all the tables... the food remains & used tissues were all over the floor. The supervisor was least bothered to arrange an housekeeping person to clear the mess when I told him.. Instead he had the audacity to reply us that the floor cannot be cleaned as it is busy time. There were nearly 7 houskeeping ladies on the floor clearing only the tables but not cleaning the floors. Then I myself called a housekeeping person, showed her the floor & asked to sweep the floor which she did. There were no tissue papers on our table when we got seated.

The next worst part was the restroom & washbasin area. Out of 2 ladies restroom only 1 was in a usable condition, the other was repaired... there was a huge queue waiting in the restroom. Also out of 3 washbasins one was not working & the other 2 were not maintained well. The floor was completely wet.

Overall the outlet is not managed well!!! With this kind of maintainance & customer service, the brand name will go...
