Orams Seafood N Cafe — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Visited this small cozy place while on a 2 day trip to Pondy. It's a small place (no air conditioning but that did not matter because it is a very well ventilated place. We were looking forward to eating some good sea food and decided on this restaurant. *The staff were very courteous and quick to attend to our requests. Met the owner, Mr Oram( the restaurant goes by his name), he is a man who has a big smile and is very hospitable. As we got talking we got to know that he has restaurants in Cochin and Dubai ( he is very passionate about his work). *Coming to food it's a 5/5. We were really hungry, ordered steamed rice, Malabar Fish curry( taste of home ),masala prawns ( perfectly cooked with a nice crunch of onions) Fish pollichathu(fish masala wrapped in banana leaf and stem cooked..was fresh and tasty) we had some fresh lime soda just to refresh us. Over all the experience was very good. PS: it is not a swanky place but you will not be dissappointed...

Definitely over rated. This is a very basic restaurant with more seafood options. The taste and quality was below average, we ordered a fish fry and it looks like it was old stock. A friend of mine who tastes it felt that the fish was one stage before getting spoilt.

We also ordered squid pepper fry, and the smell was too heavy. The older the food stock the heavier the smell becomes.

The dhall was good and it went well with boiled rice. Don't even think about biryani if you are a dum biryani fan. They just add chicken gravy with boiled basmati rice, toss in a pan and call that as biryani.

The place looked neat and clean, the attenders were prompt, rest room was clean. But still, food was not even mediocre.

I wouldn't go here again and not prefer...

Great for seafood combinations!! referred by many and had chance to be there with our team of French, Georgians, Africans and of course me too..the food was really good!!..especially whole grilled fish and chicken varieties!! all our team members were enjoyed the food and the price was very normal...guys just try this restaurant, though it is small but very neat n clean...better call them and inform your choices...they will give you the best...Thanks for the support and Day Trip arrangements...
