Pizzaiolo — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This place used to be Tanto's Pizza - we were pleasently surprised to see a new Avatar to the same place

Nothing much seemed to have changed at first glance but for the name of the joint

One think that was a bit different was the friendly staff and faster service

If Italian is your thing and you are driving through Pondy towards Chennai this is a nice place to dine - make sure in the evenings you sit inside - mosquitoes give you grief otherwise - we were wiser after finding out trying to enjoy the weather in December

I have been a bit fan of the pasta Carbonara for sometime now - this place is the closest and 'bestest' place to make you a nice big healping of the same (with bacon of course); they could have been a bit over the top if the egg yolks made the sauce thick in the end - but I loved it!

My wife a vegetarian ordered a pizza Mediterranean and the pizzas were zippy in being delivered - if a quick in and out of this place is the thing - order pizzas and they will satisfy you no doubt

The Open Oven is just outside as you enter and the chef (a lady with great skills) was belting out pizzas so well and so fast that you are in awe of the process

They have a good offering of dessert too (We gave it a skip) but could not take our eyes of the neighbours table - they were enjoying what seemed to be flan and a chocolate brownie

Pizzaiolo is pretty good if you want to eat some good pizza. The restaurant is pretty nice, having ample seating with air conditioning available. But if you wish to, you can sit out and eat with the view of the road.

Food was very good. I don't remember the last time I ate fries this good. The Garlic Bread and Pizza were well made too.

My only issue was with the service, which was lackey, as the server was quite slow with things, and we weren't provided with required cutlery. We had to ask for it, which doesn't give a good impression, but it's a small issue that needs to be corrected.

Otherwise, the interaction and response to queries were good too. I highly recommend this place if you want to eat...

The ambience was good but food was below average in taste. I was not expecting this taste from a place which has a speciality in Italian cuisine. We ordered sea food pasta (Rs 430) and the fish used it in was poor quality, the tomato base in red sauce pasta tasted like tomato paste. Again the pizza we ordered was special pizza (Rs 430 for small pizza) whose nothing was special, they just put cheese and onion slices with very few fish pieces (was hardly traceable). This place is a big NO as per my experience. I will rate it 2/10 on the basis of the taste of food served. At this price you can easily get better options in...
