Walking into Roots was one of the best experiences I had in Auroville. For a foodie like me, especially coming from the "north" part of the country, Roots was a total treat.
Adding the cherry on cake is the music. You will hear all sorts of music at Roots. From old classics to new jams, you name it! The comfortable sitting and the vibe off the cafe makes it an even better experience.
The space welcomes literally everyone, long lost friends, families, people who just want to sit and work and nice strangers. Two of those strangers are the owners of the place- Nirav and Harsh (they go from strangers to your best friends literally within 2 seconds). Egg Paratha, Paneer Paratha, Mini Thali, and what not😋😋.. Actually all the recipes you serve are really mind blowingly yummy and awesome..I really love the food here.. And not to forget the tea, which you serve in that amazing cup, which is also what I love..And not just good food you have, but also a very positive vibe, with constantly playing melodious music.. Every time I've been there, always felt like I'm home.. Really fantastic.. If i would have to say it in my language, लय्य भारी काम केलस बघ भावा हा cafe उघडलास ते!! Read moreRoots the names says it all ...took me back to Mumbai yesterday,hailing from bombay i do crave for my street food in Auroville for sev puri, bhel, pani puri ,pavbhaji and to my surprise, I spotted a cosy food joint on the edyanchavadi junction one can't miss , they had it all not but with some more Delhi chaats. Gobbled everything whatever I could and will surely go for more ...yes if you wanna try some street food from Mumbai and Delhi Chaats definitely March to Roots ...😃
