While exploring the sacred town of Rameshwaram, we stumbled upon a gem for North Indian food lovers — The Grand Delhi Plaza Restaurant. Located not far from the temple area, this place offers a refreshing break from the usual South Indian fare with its delicious, authentic North Indian vegetarian cuisine.
What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality of the staff and owners Mohit n Ramu who are originally from Muzaffarpur, Western Uttar Pradesh. They welcomed us like family, made sure we were comfortable, and went the extra mile to ensure we felt at home. Their warmth and genuine care added a special touch to the meal.
🍽️ The food was incredibly flavorful — from the rich paneer gravies and perfectly spiced dals to the soft rotis and fragrant jeera rice, everything tasted just like home. The freshness of ingredients and consistency in taste made it clear that they cook with love and authenticity.

Read moreVery much expensive compared to the hotels at Chennai.
For the cost of the food, the ambience should have been with AC, whereas here there were so many insects flying inside the room and getting caught on the food itself.
One of the item which I ate was chole bhature, the cost was Rs.150. What is this? It was worth some 60 to 80. It was too oily and the side dish had no taste at all and had regular sambar taste. Must avoid this item.
Another one was Samosa chat for Rs.55. I thought it would have channa and some mix, whereas it was having one samosa with curd as the topping with worst taste. It should have been some Rs.25. Avoid trying this.
Noth Indian Thali taste was good. But, for the cost of 200, it should have a jeera rice atleast instead of mere white rice. U can try if hungry and willing to eat this normal thali having white rice.
Rose milk was good. Try this.
Soup - I guess they give us Knorr soup or something. Same Knorr soup taste. Don't try the soup.
Coffee- okish taste. Can try.
Not sure if the lightings or the prior Google reviews ( fake or genuine ones)would lure the customers.I went by Google reviews :(. But , for the cost of the food, it should have been better. Why plastic plates when the menu is super...
Read moreExtremely poor food quality. We found insects in the rice and when questioned they didn't admit. Rather they tried to make it up by saying it's mustard thinking no one in our group of 8 members knows cooking. Even before we started eating, the ladies who served food forcefully asked for tips. Many north indians were working and they understand the dish we order. Rather they come up and serve something which is exactly opposite of what we have ordered. That's even forgiveable. But they argue that we don't know the dish name and ordered wrong food. They have prepared it right. The ones doing order taking are always on mobile and don't listen to us properly. They enter wrong items and when the query is addressed, they come to argue with us as a gang of 4-5. Poor quality food and service on the whole. Highly frustrated on having elders and children with us and not able to make them eat when...
