I guess, at this point, this review would be only confirming the general opinion about AASIFE BIRYANI, the one that the brand needs to work on it's standards to come back to glory once again. However, bless the restaurant, they didn't deny us a meal when we knocked the doors at 3.30pm. even though the place was absolutely empty, it was being prepared by 3 hardworking employees for the next session.
Biryani quantity was good, but warm and needed lot more flavour. Pepper Barbecue was hard and carried unnecessary amounts of smokey flavour, it tasted like the very grill it was cooked on. Ofcourse we were hungry enough to devour it to the bone dry. The manchow soup was a joke though, made me wonder how such food standard even created ripples in the Chennai food scene a few years ago.
The service staff were courteous, attentive and they do deserve to be thanked genuinely with an honest smile..for they always had an eye on our table, inspite of having to stick to their cleaning routine.
Drop by if you are hungry and wish to grab a quick bite. The place is clean and indeed designed to cater to good number of people that once were expected to walk through its doors.
My review is 3/5 solely because of the service and comfortable place to sit for the 45...
Read moreWe were in Chennai for a short trip and after finishing our work,w e asked our driver to take us to a good biryani place. He mentioned that, Aasife Biryani was the new 'Sensational" biryani place in Chennai with over 20 branches in a short time spam. So, before we headed to the airport we went for one last meal to Aasife Biryani. The amazing thing in Chennai is that the waiters and staff in a lot of Chennai restaurants are now from the North-East which was not the case when I lived in Chennai (2007-10)
The good part about that is that placing an order is rather easy due to language not being a barrier. This place was packed on a Wednesday afternoon, which is a good sign. We ordered Chicken biryani and Chicken 65. Along with that fresh lime juice (Which were sweet). The food is not bad and worth a try. For the price, I have to say that they are competitive and felt fair (but again I am NRI) and it felts fair to me. The gravy or curry along with the biryani which is a norm in Chennai was packed with oil and I gave it a miss. On the whole, Not bad and worth the...
Read moreAasif chain is good, understood that some times the franchise people dont maintain the quality and head office should cancel their license. I got 2 Mutton 2 chicken Biriyani along with the gravy ( kathirikai) take away . Understood gravy is spoiled and it's not fresh. Mutton biriyani they add only 1 piece and again it's not fresh.. chick Biriyani they added 2 pieces.. Rice quality clearly shows it's not a premium as available in main branches.
We called them in the evening and complained about all these things, manage was humble to listen everything he apologies us. When we check we understood BRIYANI is not prepared in main branch and circulating to franchise . They are preparing on their own.. Manage is well aware that gravy is spoiled because when we are getting parcel, they were preparing dispose spoiled food.
Asifa management should understand, we go to your sub branches just bcoz of your brand, it's your duty to ensure the food safely and quality is good..
More over you are charging a premium price , so it's your duty ensure the...
