Collected over time: Takeaway is always a scam (sometimes packaged in half containers - sometimes). Food quality is usually bad for dry items. Gravy could be good - Chole were pretty decent once. Chinese dry items might taste good, but don't seem even as healthy as Chinese food usually is. Noodles, rice have almost no flavoring, even the Schezwan variants, are usually just a bit chilli-flavored. Juices could be alright, the Butterfruit Milkshake is worth a try, but inconsistent. Honey Chilli Chicken is a no. Paneer Biryani tastes nice sometimes but hold the raita, it may be spoiled. Tikka masala is as tikka masala generally is, but the veggies may not be grilled properly - once I got Gobi which was practically raw, perhaps worse. Mini samosas are getting anxious looking at the thinning figures of the full sized samosas. Water... is good. Usually. Vibes decent. Sometimes groups break into singing :) Service is good, always. Located inside the calm and green IIT Madras campus, Zaitoon is a great place for students, staff, and employees to enjoy a relaxed meal. The ambience is peaceful and quiet, perfect to take a break and enjoy some good food.

They offer a nice variety of North Indian, Chinese, and Kerala dishes. My personal favourite is the Malabar Biryani – truly authentic . Don’t miss the pazham pori with tea – a simple combo but very satisfying!

The place is really a good choice to make memories with friends with tasty meals. The ambience is so beautiful. The greenery all around make you forget your worries and you can enjoy the food watching outside. Food is good. Many food items are available here. Also there is a juice counter.
