Worst experience.
We visited Toppi Vaappa, Trichy to celebrate a close friend’s birthday, expecting a memorable evening. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve had in recent times — and I say this as someone who regularly visits a variety of restaurants due to my work schedule and travel commitments.
From the moment we stepped in, the service was strikingly rude and unwelcoming. The waiter attending to our table seemed visibly disinterested and impatient. Even before we were halfway through our meal, he began persistently asking, “What else would you like?”, as though we were an inconvenience rather than guests. It didn’t stop there — once the place started to fill up, he bluntly told us to “eat fast” as other customers were waiting. This was said with no tact, no courtesy — just sheer arrogance.
Such behavior is not just unprofessional; it reflects a total disregard for basic hospitality. Dining out should be a relaxing experience, especially when celebrating special occasions. Rushing patrons and creating an atmosphere of haste in the name of turnover and profit is a recipe for long-term failure, no matter how popular the establishment may seem at the moment.
I understand that constructive feedback rarely moves the needle when management is profit-driven and tone-deaf to customer experience. So yes — this review, like the money we spent, may very well be in vain. But it’s important to call out such behavior in the hope that future customers are better informed.
To sum up: If you’re looking for a place to enjoy your meal in peace with even a modicum of courtesy from staff, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This was, regrettably, a complete waste of our...

I recently ordered a mutton biryani for two, expecting a fulfilling meal. The packaging was certainly impressive, but that's where the positives end.
The biryani itself was a colossal letdown. For a dish meant for two, the quantity of onion, raita, and gravy was barely enough for one person. To my astonishment, the rice quantity far exceeded the meat, making it feel like I was searching for hidden treasure in a bowl of rice. The few mutton pieces I managed to find were incredibly small and bony.
The taste was equally underwhelming. The biryani was overly spicy and lacked any depth of flavor. It's clear that the overwhelming social media hype doesn't match the reality of the food.
I paid a hefty ₹380 for this 'bucket biryani' that was more like an empty bucket filled with rice. Other biryani places in Trichy offer much better quality and quantity at a fraction of the price.
I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant or ordering from them. It's a complete waste of money and time. This is undoubtedly the worst biryani I've ever had.
Save your money and taste buds!
