I visited the place on 9th August 2025 ( night hours) , and I am astonished any kid who promotes their place to be QSR can't train or take a basic onus to train staff on communication ethics and most critically Honesty which has been found absent.
I placed an order for parcel with 8 items, however what I found is a little dubious that cashier/ receptionist kept conveying me its just the dishes amounting to the some total 980 , and not any kind of other charges, for 3 to 4 times he kept conveying that its only the dishes amounting the that total, when I asked him to show the screen as I was skeptical of him because I already made a total to which the Bill amount was exceeding, he manually added parcel charges, when I asked him to show the screen and just accepted that their were parcel charges which summed up to the same amount of 980 which he conveyed earlier, which means where is the rest of INR 90 was going to earlier while he kept denying to his own pocket or restaurant account?
Only later when I asked to please show over the screen he made changes manually right in front of me, this clearly means he was trying to take the parcel charges without specifying on the bill with himself ?
So its clear that either the kids who aspire to build QSR haven't taken the pain to train the staff or hire staff with basic ethics and a basic mannerism to communicate.
Or else if a self proclaimed QSR functioning with dhaba class of workers who talk , pretend and commit such acts which dishonest, dubious and disingenuous beheviour of hiding parcel charges on the bill and yet charging to the customer. What was the need for this ?
As I result I didn't pay and opted for the dinner from an alternate place which already has credentials, because candidness is of prime importance before anything, upon being caught of this act cashier/ receptionist is conveying " Sir main aaapse zyada thodi loonga" he was asked 5 to 6 times , and when asked to show the screen he added parcel charges manually upon which the bill amount to the same price as earlier, this showcases the intensions of the cashier very well
Manager could have taken cognizance but it was complex for him to even manage orders from the kitchen
If they had to perform such dhaba class of acts then Customers too would identify cheating of such level from staff seamlessly.
Earlier the Vada served was cold, when some one from management or ownership arrived there behaviour changed and they starting re - frying the Vada which was already kept
Basics are missing in this place, its kind of self proclaimed as fancy hence only and only a 1 Star...
Read more"A Culinary Adventure (If You Have All Day and a High Tolerance for Disappointment)" What a delightful evening at Podi Point! We arrived at around 6:40 pm, full of hope and hunger, only to be greeted by a masterclass in how not to run a South Indian restaurant. First, the ghee masala dosa arrived—15 minutes after we ordered—lukewarm, as if it had been on a leisurely stroll from the kitchen. The sambar, however, was hot, perhaps to remind us what warmth feels like. Points for contrast, I guess? (And yes, the taste was actually good—no doubt about that.) Next, the paper napkin saga: We asked for one. Twice. Maybe they’re rationing them for VIPs, or perhaps they’re just testing our patience. Either way, we failed the test. But the real showstopper was the ghee podi idli. After a 30-minute wait, we were told it couldn’t be served—no reason given, just a shrug and a “sorry, not sorry.” When we politely declined to order something else (because, you know, we have jobs and homes to return to), they generously canceled the idli… and, as a bonus, the coffee too. Because why let us have caffeine when we can have disappointment instead? Observation: It seems Podi Point has pivoted to catering more to the sandwich-pizza-burger crowd. South Indian food lovers, beware—you might feel like an afterthought here. Pro Tip: If you enjoy playing “Will My Food Ever Arrive?” or “How Many Times Can I Ask for a Napkin Before I’m Ignored?”, this is the place for you. Otherwise, maybe pack a snack and a napkin from home. Rating: ⭐ (for the sambar’s temperature and the taste of almost even though it was almost cold dosa, which were the only things hot and good about...

I recently visited Podi Point ujjain and it was a delightful experience for any South Indian food lover! The aroma of freshly roasted podi masalas hits you the moment you enter. Their variety of podis—from classic gunpowder to tangy curry leaf blends—are authentic, rich in flavor, and clearly made with care.
The idlis were soft and fluffy, dosas crisp yet light, and pairing them with their in-house podi and a dash of ghee was simply heavenly. The sambhar and chutneys were fresh, balanced, and not overly spicy—just the way they should be.
The staff was warm, attentive, and happy to explain the origins and uses of each podi, which made the experience even more special. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had that comforting, homely vibe.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the real taste of South India in every bite! Will definitely be coming...
