Whenever you search for the best places to eat in Allahabad over the internet, one name which would pop up everytime and almost every website would recommend is a place called Eat On. Eat On is very famous and popular for it's one and the only delicacy, that is it's Chicken Biryani. I was in Allahabad on Sunday and well before visiting there, I had decided that I would try Eat On's biryani. Infact, I was very excited to taste it's biryani. One could easily locate Eat On from a distance as it remains always crowded and surrounded by hungry people. I ordered a full biryani which costs a very reasonable price of Rs. 110/- and those who want to order a half biryani, can order it for Rs. 60/-. The full Biryani consists of two pieces of chicken accompanied with onions and mint chutney. However, I must say that my expectations from the biryani was much higher than what I got there. I don't like to have much garam masala in my biryani.Although the biryani was aromatic, but it contained a very high amount of powdered and whole garam masala, due to which my throat started burning soon. One thing which I also noticed in the biryani is the amount of oil it had. The biryani contained too much of oil as if oil was poured over the biryani once the cooking got completed, which is a very general practice adopted by the road side Biryani Vendors. The portion was good enough for two persons to eat. Nevertheless, the other people standing there, most of whom were regular visitors, were really happy with the Biryani (it appeared). Based upon my experience, I give my ratings as follows on different parameters:
Taste: 2/5 Ambience:1/5 Service: 5/5 Value...

Read morePlace is big, they have smartly divided sections for online deliveries, take aways and dine in sections. It eases a lot for everyone, and service is smooth in function. I ordered 3 full take aways, which turned out to be very smooth and it took me less than 2 minutes to get free from there. Very efficient indeed.
The quantity is more than sufficient, and they took care of the quantity of rice and chicken pieces as well. So much that we 3 people were full in 2 packs only. Now coming to the main part, the taste, though I heard a lot of good reviews about the awesomeness of the taste, I found it bland, the chicken pieces tasted like boiled salted pieces, and the rice was more or less the same. The colour was not appetising, and the same was with the taste, apart from salt and cloves, no other taste was distinguishing. I can get better tasting biryanis in lucknow from roadside kiosks in Lucknow. Though I'm not comparing it to Lucknow, even in Allahabad, I live near Agriculture Instt. here also I can find somewhat a good tasting biryani. Sorry if anyhow I sound offending, but genuinely, I found the taste missing, because that is what we foodies crave for, a good tasting...
