They try selling water bottles and when asked for a normal RO water, the manager says they cannot provide RO water and that the government have insisted them to provide only bottled waters. They sell water bottles citing covid. I have attached a photo of the water they sell. I doubt even if it is from a reputed water supplier. While people are already suffering to earn, these frauds try to make use of the situation to earn some extra bucks. Demand for water. Water and washrooms are to be provided free of cost at hotels (according to supreme court).
Edit 1 for the reply: Can you show us which guidelines from the government asks you to sell water bottles by turning down customer's request for free water, citing covid as a reason?
Are we being forced to buy water?
Some restaurants are finding that the best way to sell water is by informing us that RO system has mysteriously stopped working, then it is their onus to provide an equally good alternative. Maybe buy canned mineral water for the duration of the breakdown. But giving a customer no choice except to purchase mineral water smacks of a dishonourable way to make money.
It is a business trend in places where the restaurant knows people can easily afford bottled water, if they are forced to make a choice between going without water or buying.
The very reason of this distinction is because in the local fast food joints, the server arrives promptly with his tray full of steel tumblers filled with water. Whether that water is indeed clean can only be ascertained by checking samples in the lab, but these places are at least adhering to the requirement that potable water should be served to customers.
In India, quality of tap water is unfortunately so dubious that it is not an option at all, while it is a perfectly acceptable option in developed countries. Even then, there have been cases of restaurants refusing to serve water and making people buy it.
In the UK, there is a new awareness about the rights of customers to be served tap water. An article in the Guardian reports that in 2008, a water company Thames Water along with a government-aided body called Consumer Council for Water, began a campaign to encourage eateries to serve regular tap water. This was in reaction to consumer unhappiness over British restaurants practising “tap water snobbery" where nine out of 10 restaurants would push consumers to purchase mineral water and not serve them regular water. In April 2010, the British Home Office issued fresh guidelines to bars, pubs and clubs to serve free water to those who ask for it. In the hip bars and restaurants of New York, there is a reverse snobbery at play which is making customers reject bottled water and opt for tap water. Choosing bottled water is viewed as ecologically irresponsible, as it contributes to huge mounds of plastic waste and carbon footprint as most of it is shipped from overseas
In India, for all practical purposes “normal water" has come to mean RO water. In restaurants, the poser “Normal or mineral?" is a cunning one, designed to create insecurity in the customers. Typically, when the waiter innocently poses this query, there is a moment of hesitation at the table and we find ourselves choosing mineral over normal. What makes us purchase our water even when the waiter assures us that normal means RO, which is what we would be drinking at home? It is because we suspect that given the way things are in our blessed land, it may not actually be filtered water.
That choice is a customer’s prerogative. But to be pushed and be left with no choice but to buy bottled water goes against a legal requirement. It also contradicts our famed Indian hospitality where atithi devo bhava is such a fundamental tenet that it has become our tourism pitch.
Five hundred years ago, emperor Sher Shah Suri built sarais (highway inns) every two miles on the Grand Trunk Road, which had at the entrance, large jars of water for all parched travellers to quench their thirst. Some of our modern day restaurants seem to have come a long way from...
Read moreAttended here a function hosted By my friend, Management and Ownership were very Arrogant and concluded very Stern and Rude Behaviour. After some friends Reviewed about them The Management is consistently Crying a song that"Guests and hosts were drunk." They cannot prove a single instance where guest and hosts were Consuming Alcohol in their Premises nor any event where Guest Or Host Collided with the Management.
Issue was created when my friend was welcoming his Guest ,the Ownership continously forced him three four times to pay the remaining amount in due course( which was paid instantly)
My friend Booked for the event Through a Reliable source( In which manager said " Ghar ki bat hai paise ka koi issue nahi hai" Abhi kuch advance kar dijiye Baaki party ke baad ho jayega. And he went Reciprocated to his statement as the Party initiated.
Issue was completely Related to Pay the Dues, in fact my friend told me that he went to pay the remaining amount on the day of event in the afternoon, but there was no one to entertain him at the Reception.
Alas if you Go after 9 pm to the Restaurant, their staff are drunk(in frustration)and misbehaved and consistently asking for Tip. So Viewers if you are Planning for Event then Go for a Place which have Polite and Humble Staff and proper Hotel Management Trainee included in their Working Horizon. Not a JholaChaap Staff like them. Google should have the Option of 0 star for them.
Reply: No Doubt this party also went well, issue is Regarding your Behaviour. And according to your theory whole 100+ People were drunk including ladies and childrens. You've no point to defend because it's your habit of defaming and disgracing customer's. It is not 1st instance I've heard about your misdemanour.
So first Teach yourself and your Staff about the Etiquettes of dealing guests before blaming other's. And everyone know very well how long you have been in this business, 5 years of induction including 3 years Covid Restriction. And most probably you're talking about your habit of 'Alcohol Changes People" ,Because you promised of taking due payment after party(As you're Bhakt of that Reliable source through which the Booking was done) . You could have drunk on the day and your Mind have changed for taking due payment during the party. As Once a Great Man said "Alcohol Changes People"
Reply: Neither my friend nor his any guest were complaining about the party because everything was upto mark. On account of defaming you're continously defaming and disgracing my friend and his family , they belong to well-to-do Family and my friend is on Reputed post in Administration and earns well to celebrate all his family event's in different Restaurents of the town. You're well aware that 100+ guest were there and one person can't take responsibility for checking that guest are drunk Or not(From next time assign your staff with a breathalyser on Entrance) . And on just Assuming some guest were smelling drunk you can't judge that host will abscond without paying *(after booking through a reference of your reliable customer) I am saying again and again that Mr. Anwar's irresponsible attitude caused the trouble. He should've asked politely for the payment, we were there to pay you after the party(As Mr Anwar asked me to do 10 days prior), His arrogancy and ruthless behaviour incited my friend to speak in a louder way(for which you are referring him drunk as you've no option to defend Anwar)and when they went to owner to complain about him, Even He did not Ascertained his fault That went surprising for them. You should train your staff to stand on their words pre-booking and Post-booking. And avoid doing Hypocrisy with customer(By inveigling him so he can book your banquet).
And No I'll statement is being produced here, Whatever we experienced is mentioned here Either Good Or Bad and no need to review from different ID's as 150+ Guests and Relative were present and are well aware of your act, foremostly Jaiswal Community...
Read moreIf only i could give negative stars, but alas there's no option for that. We went there on 10/2/23, and no one attended us. We had to call the waiter to take our order, who were standing ideally. We ordered Singapori fried rice and malai kofta. After waiting for long we received the rice which was garnished with a big pineapple. On removing the pineapple we found several such pieces in the rice which we initially thought were potatoes, but after tasting we realised those were also pineapples. Where on earth do they put pineapples in Singapori fried rice?? We were very disturbed and disappointed with the same. We called for the waiter and asked him to call the chef. But the chef didn't show up. On insisting they changed the rice and asked us if they could bring us veg biryani, but after our horrible experience we couldn't take more risk and settled for jeera rice. We read the reviews later and found people had bad experience with the place and we couldn't agree more. I don't understand being in a good location with good infrastructure why don't they improve their services? Would never recommend this place...
