KFC Allahabad outlet scores big on the food. One of the few KFCs where the burger bun is fresh with a nice thin crust with sesame seeds. So much so, that I've begun to prefer KFC burgers over other fast food chains in the city. The Rice Bowls are spicy with fresh rice. They seem to have tweaked the recipe and I always order rice here. The chicken (hot and crispy) is fresh, with a crispy skin and soft flesh. It is high in sodium but not super salty and dripping with oil like so many noida and delhi KFC outlets. The strips (both chicken and veg) are fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, they don't have any diet soft drinks. Every calorie matters, even if one is eating at KFC. They MUST also provide the full calorie and nutritional information on the package. All over the world KFC does it, but is taking the Indian customers for a ride and getting the kids hooked on high calorie junk food. I think it'll take another 100 years for Indian food consumers to wake up about nutrition in their diet.
As far as ambience goes, this is not a place for formal dinners. But being right next to the bus station and within a short distance of the train station, it is one of the better places for the hungry traveller to grab a bite and relax a while. The ACs are usually at their best in the baking heat of Allahabad. The upstairs seating area is less crowded and it is easy to find seating there. The cleaniless suffers on the weekends when they are busy. But can't blame the staff when the customers have no problem spilling the fried batter on not only the tables, but also the seats.
A pro tip: ordering may take upto 45 minutes on the weekends in the evenings, so order early. I've never seen such a busy KFC...
Read moreI am writing to share my disappointment regarding the ongoing poor experience I’ve faced at your KFC Civil Lines, Allahabad outlet. Over the past eight years, I have regularly visited this branch, hoping for improvement — unfortunately, there has been no visible change in quality, service, or hospitality.
Here are some specific issues: Poor Quality of Chicken Especially on Wednesdays, the chicken served is often of very low quality — it tastes stale, is often poorly cooked, and lacks the standard flavor I’ve experienced in other cities. Inconsistent Taste The taste and freshness of food served here do not match the standards of other KFC outlets in cities like Delhi or Lucknow It feels like a completely different restaurant, not part of the KFC brand. Unprofessional Staff and Service The staff lacks professionalism. Many of them are often seen chatting behind the cash counter, ignoring customer service. Their hospitality and attentiveness are far below expectations. Poor Serving Practices The chicken is often kept for a long time, and when served, it is barely warm and feels microwaved rather than freshly cooked. This greatly affects the overall dining experience.
As a loyal customer and fan of KFC, it’s extremely disappointing to see this lack of quality and care at one of your outlets. I sincerely urge the management to look into this matter seriously and take corrective steps — including staff training, quality control, and ensuring food freshness.
I hope to see real...
