We were tired after traveling throughout the day and after visiting kainchi dham, we were looking for a good place to have our food. It's very near to the ashram and is located conveniently on the main road. It's a pure veg restaurant and it was very clean and well maintained.
The washrooms too are very clean and very much recommended for people travelling with family especially elders. One problem though it is located 1 level higher than the ground and may require to climb some stairs.
Coming to the food, we ordered the local Kumouni thali as we wanted to try it, along with that we tried some parathas and gulab jamun. It was tasty and very good. But my suggestion though if you are a person with tasty buds, than Kumouni food won't satisfy you. It has very less masala and salt, so you may not like it that much. Instead my recommendation would be to try north Indian thali as it's good for the price. Anyways since it's a pahadi ilakha you won't get much better options than this, so go for it.
Also forgot to add the view you get from the seating area on the left side of the hotel when you enter. It offers a view of the hill as well as the stream flowing there beside the ashram and you can also get a good view of the ashram premises as well. Just try find a table...

JUST A ROBBERY RESTAURANT AS THIS KUST NEXT TO KAINCHI DHAM
The menu prices here feel almost like a robbery when compared to reputable restaurants in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Surat, or any major city.
These prices are nearly double. Just 25 km away, in the tourist hotspot of Nainital, equivalent restaurants charge almost 50-60% less.
Moreover, the service is absurd. When I asked if the soap for a restroom, they acted as if it was a strange request.
They said they'd provide one, but it should already be available. Also, the waitstaff cleaning their hands outside and then coming inside is baffling.
It seems like they're inflating the prices because of the restaurant's location, and that's the only reason. I'm very disappointed; it feels like a rip-off. On top of that, there's another restaurant nearby ANNPURNA that's about 25% cheaper and has better food quality.
We might have made a mistake coming here, but it was around 8:30 or 9 o'clock in the evening, and there were no other options, and I was not in position to take chances as my wife was with me.
We're really disappointed with this...
