We came here while we were staying the nearby Kasaar Jungle Resort and looking for alternative eating options. The place is a small cafe serving chinese and indian fast food
#ambiance : 3.5/5 It is a small cafe and there is option to eat both inside the restaurant or on tables outside which offer a view of the valley. It was sparsely occupied and not even clean. We had to ask the server to put on a new table cloth and clean the table
service : 3.5/5 Slow service. We had to literally wait 20 mins for a plate of momos. The waiter was quite friendly but we also felt that either he was drunk or on a high. He will help you with most of your demands but don't expect much of him
food : 3.5/5 Momos : The place is famous for its momos and we had non veg momos which are made from mutton in the mountains. Very tasty and juicy. Must try here. Veg chowmein : We ordered a dolma spl chowmein and it was a disappointment. The veggies were either undercooked or burnt leading to a bad taste. They also overloaded it with cottage cheese, hence spoiling the entire taste Chai : We ordered masala tea which was served fresh, piping hot and well made. It was a refreshing drink to compliment the mountain weather.
value for money : 3.5/5 It is quite cheap and cost for two people will not exceed 300 rs even for a hearty meal. It is one of the only economical restaurants in a 2 Km radius with proper seating space for the guests. You can come here if you are in Almora and are visiting the Kasaar...

The restaurant is perhaps the most visited joint in the entire Kasar Valley and is well located to offer picturesque views and rare Tibetan delicacies apart from standard North Indian food as well (Veg & NonVeg). It has ample car parking and quick service.
Stranded comfortably inside the restaurant from a wave of rains and mild hails outside, we relished the gush of cool winds in an otherwise hottest June in India ever and decided on the spot to stay overnight at the adjoining New Dolma Hotel and paid extra for the Top Floor for the picturesque views and were awarded immediately with a massive rainbow. Correctly realising a rare chance, we dashed half a mile ahead to a curve on the road at the Hippie Ridge Point, to relish clear views of snowclad Himalayas (Trishul, Nanda Devi & Group) for full one hour before sunset - a rarest or rare sighting in summers, made possible only due to the flash rains washing the sky clean. We then drove and toured the nearby Binsar range and enjoyed nearby swanky restaurants and cafes - Mohans,...
