Review by Dr. Hukam Singh Sandu | #GTMCare Last week, I had the pleasure of dining at Manna Kitchen Dosa Point in Dehradun. Specializing in South Indian cuisine, this eatery offers a variety of dosas and other traditional dishes. Ambiance and Service: The restaurant provides indoor seating and maintains a clean environment. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Food Quality: I ordered the Ghee Masala Dosa, which was crisp and flavorful, accompanied by coconut chutney, tomato chutney, and sambhar. The portion size was generous, and the use of desi ghee added a rich aroma and taste. Value for Money: With an average cost of ₹500 for two people, the pricing is reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food served. Overall Rating: āāāāā˜† (4/5) āœ”ļø Authentic South Indian flavors āœ”ļø Courteous staff āœ”ļø Clean and comfortable seating Limited parking space For those seeking genuine South Indian cuisine in Dehradun, Manna Kitchen Dosa Point is a commendable choice.

If you are looking for a decent south indian place, manna kitchen is where you should be headed. We visited the sahastradhara branch. They have another one in Ballupur. The sahastradhara branch is a small, cozy place with options of both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is clean and well kept. We ordered masala dosa, double egg dosa and podi idlis. Dosas were crisp, the masala in the dosas was flavourful, the podi idlis tasted good. They were cut into small pieces and lightly fried in the podi masala. We ended the meal with a filter coffee which gets a thumbs up from me. The sambhar was the right kind of spicy, the only drawback being the lack of vegetables in it. The chutneys were fresh and went well with everything else. After being disappointed several times by the likes of the Udupis in Dehradun, this one was a pleasant surprise. PS the staff is friendly, service is quick and they will serve you extra sambhar and chutneys as much as you want.

Very bad food not recommend, I brought my parents and family here to celebrate a special day and had one of the most disappointing dining in south Indian food. Had so much hope for good dosa, idli and vada in Dehradun but food was very poor and not good at all. The dosas were like papad, the medu vada was like a rock ( my mother could not even eat and my father refused ) and the podi idli very dry. My mother ordered onion tomato uttapam which was decent but took at least 45 mins to arrive. The food was hard and tasteless, Manna Kitchen was my choice and it is not cheap , a request to the owners pls don’t take your customers for a ride thinking that North Indians are clueless about south indian and will accept anything. I am so disappointed with the quality of the food, please improve and be authentic. The owners should have been there , i would have talked to them directly.

Well, I love South Indian food, so I am very selective about the taste and authenticity. A friend of mine recommended me this amazing Dosa Point at Jakhan, Manna Kitchen Dosa Point. When you have a restaurant that is only serving South Indian, the food should be good and I almost drooled when I first ate their dosa.

Food : This is the first time when I ate a Beetroot Dosa, I would recommend everyone to try it once ( Healthy + Tasty ). Every dish that they serve is worth every single penny you spend. Do try their coffee as well, you won't find a coffee like that anywhere in Doon.

Ambience : For someone who loves staying away from a lot of crowd and commotion, the place is perfect for you. Small yet appealing!. A perfect place to spend some quality time and if you also love eating authentic South Indian, its a win win for you.

Customer Service : This place is run by a lady named Suja, she hails from South India and cooks all the food that is served by herself despite the number of customers being less or more. All your feedbacks are welcomed and are taken very seriously. I just gave a feed back of pouring the Sambhar in the plate rather than giving it in plastic container, she came out, apologized and gave a rationale of why she does that. She poured it in the plate then and there. I know its not a big thing but small things always make a huge impact.

Do give Manna Kitchen Dosa...

Review for Chicken Dosa and Idly: "Manna Kitchen Dosa Point has become my go-to spot for some of the best South Indian dishes around! The chicken dosa is simply out of this world – crispy, flavorful, and packed with perfectly seasoned chicken. Their idly is soft, fluffy, and pairs wonderfully with the chutneys and sambar. Whether you’re a fan of classic South Indian dishes or something with a twist, Manna Kitchen never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic and tasty food!"

Review for Ambur Biryani: "If you're craving the best Ambur biryani in town, Manna Kitchen Dosa Point is the place to go! The biryani is perfectly spiced, with tender, juicy pieces of meat and fragrant rice that leaves a lasting impression. It's not too heavy and strikes a perfect balance in terms of flavors. I’ve tried many places, but Manna Kitchen’s Ambur biryani truly stands out. Definitely a must-try!"

Overall Experience Review: "Manna Kitchen Dosa Point delivers on all fronts! From their unique chicken dosa to their unbeatable Ambur biryani, every dish bursts with flavor and quality. The place has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is warm and welcoming. It's a hidden gem for anyone who loves great South Indian food with an authentic twist. I always look forward to my next...

Review for Manna Kitchen Dosa Point

I used to genuinely enjoy eating at Manna Kitchen Dosa Point and was happy to pay ₹160 for idli or vada because the food was always fresh and satisfying. But lately, my experience has been consistently disappointing.

On multiple visits, the food just hasn’t been fresh. The idlis were clearly reheated, and the vadas lacked that fresh, crisp taste. During my latest visit, we ordered sambar rice, and it was served like khichdi—already mixed with sambar and topped with ghee without asking us. When my mom politely asked why it was served like that and mentioned that not everyone prefers ghee, the staff casually said, ā€œYou should have informed us if you didn’t want ghee.ā€ That’s not how it should be served, and no effort was made to correct it.

We paid ₹240 for that plate, which came with two papads, a small portion of undercooked aloo sabzi, and some pickle. To make things worse, they didn’t even serve us water until we asked—and this isn’t the first time that’s happened.

It’s not about the pricing—it's the lack of freshness, quality, and basic service. Unfortunately, after several such experiences, I’ve decided I’m never going to visit Manna Kitchen Dosa...
