We came for breakfast to this place after passing through couple of times , the entrance was all decked up & looked quite inviting. We sat at the table to realize QR code for menu doesn’t work, had to try other side of tray to scan the code. After deciding what we want, waiter told us that we would have to order at the counter. We waited for 10 mins at the counter as despite having two counters & numerous staff only one counter was accepting orders & person ahead of us wasn’t able to decide what he wanted. Mercifully they opened another counter & we placed order there. After placing the order & sitting at our table, we were told the one item we had ordered wasn’t available so it was replaced. Serving time took almost 30 minutes between the orders. Food was amazing, but something which were disappointing were 1- serving time was very long despite place having only 3-4 occupied tables 2-coffee served in paper cups in the restaurant. If am paying 240 for a American I would love to get it in Proper cutlery 3- pricing is quite high, breakfast for 3 costing 2745/-, it’s double of AMA cafe, which has similar food quality, half the price, amazing service & friendly staff 4- three different staff came at 5 mins interval to cleanup our table while we were eating , this despite the fact that place had more than half tables empty.
In short good for quality of food but at expensive pricing, am not going to visit again due to service & price, better options available in Dehradun with similar quality &...
Read moreWe expected to have a good experience from the way the place is built. But from the start it was a horrible experience. We bought a lot of tea cakes brioche bread and what not, spending over 3-4k. We also had an eat in order. One of the dishes we ordered was nutella banana crepe. After having a couple bites, we asked the server to change it as the banana was totally raw and inedible. To our surprise, and first time ever for me, they only changed the banana on the same crepe and we expected they wud change the whole thing and brong new. That was hilarious Also made us worry that they must fix all the food taken back to kitchen this way and cant even begin to imagine the amount of cross contamination there must be. Obviously we left all the food on the table, paid our bill and left. After reaching home we had high hopes of all the bakery items we purchased in excitement. We did buy a lot. Nothing was tasty. It was so mediocre. The brioche was nothing like a briche and tasted so eggy. Unfortunately we had to throw away all of it as And the giving it to someone also didnt fee right. I am never going back...
Read moreNiks Bakers, Address One, Dehradun opened for service a couple of months ago. I had been here before too, however, decided to write a review this time.
To begin with the ambience - it's clean, well lighted and well cooled. The layout is pretty spacious. The food items are attractively displayed in their shelves and decently plated and presented as well. Taste wise, it's good.
The first issue I instantly experienced was poorly trained staff, with not much of an inkling about the items they served. No bad manners or rudeness, but totally clueless.
The next thing I felt was overpriced items. I have no issues paying for good food. Several items were priced at par with cafes and tea shops in Taj & Hyatt hotels yet the combination of quality & service of a 5-star was completely absent.
There's a large parking outside, however, when tourists go crazy and throng the place , it's simply a parking nightmare.
VERDICT: It's ok if you'd like to visit for the experience of a new place, however, it doesn't have anything that would keep me coming...
