Vadakkeyattam kumbalam puttukada — Restaurant in undefined

We visited Kumbalam Putt Kada today around 12:30 PM. The shop is located near the Water Metro, making it easily accessible. The place had a decent and clean setup, and the service was good.

We ordered puttu with chicken curry, beef curry, and a boiled duck egg. The beef curry was average, nothing extraordinary. The chicken curry had a good taste, but it felt a bit artificial. The pieces were completely covered in bright red color, which at first made me think they were tomato chunks. Only after starting to eat did I realize it was actually chicken. The taste also had a hint of something like Ajinomoto or another artificial additive, which was a bit off-putting.

One thing that could be improved is cleanliness. The washing area was not very clean, and although there is a washroom facility inside, we didn’t check how well-maintained it was. They provide spoons to serve the curries, but unfortunately, the spoon we got was not properly washed, with food or oil particles still stuck to it.

While the overall experience was decent, it would be great if they could maintain better hygiene and avoid using excessive food coloring and artificial flavors. Natural flavors always enhance the authenticity of a dish. If they work on these aspects, it could be an even better place to enjoy...

Vadakkeyattam Puttu Kada , Kumbalam Boat Jetty

The newly opened puttu kada at Kumbalam. Visited this place yesterday. Tried puttu and beef curry. It was indeed mouth watering beef curry . Revisitig for sure.

The cook does 20 varieties of puttu which even includes CHOCLATE PUTTU ! . Other than puttu they are also offering aripathiri , ghee rice and kappa. They are serving beef curry, beef fry , chicken fry , chicken roast , egg curry , kadala and payaru .

The place is very neat and can easily accommodate around 20 people at a time. Can recommend for family crowd also. They have got ample...

Food is worth it, no doubt. Had atleast 5 to 6 times in different years from there.

@restaurant owner - In my opinion, they need to do correct two things. 1. Now a days found food to be too salty. They can easily reduce it 2. Refurbish the kitchen to opp side. Then open the kayal side so that more air can come in. It is too hot to sit inside and due to this dine in is horrible. Need to Improve the exaust air from the kitchen. By doing this air circulation improves and this place will be a heaven to have food....
