If you are craving authentic South Indian food in Vasai, Dakshina Katha (Vasai West) is a must-visit!
The ambience gives a true South Indian touch, calm and welcoming. The owner is very kind and personally comes to every table to check if guests are happy β a rare gesture these days.
We originally went to try their Benne Dosa, but ended up tasting almost half the menu β and every single item was worth it!
Benne Dosa was perfect, served with fresh loni (white butter) that melts into the crispy dosa.
Ghee Podi Tatthe Idli is an absolute must-try β soft, flavorful, and unique.
Mysore Pak literally melts in the mouth, reminding me of sitting in Chennai and enjoying it β heavenly!
Medu Wada was fresh and crisp, with the right balance inside.
Ghee Roast Sada Dosa was super crispy and light β exactly how it should be.
The Sambar stood out the most β first time I had sambar somewhere and it didnβt feel acidic at all. That speaks volumes about the quality of ingredients used.
And to end it on a sweet note, the Pineapple Sheera was divine β the taste still lingers in my mouth!
Overall, Dakshina Katha is serving not just food, but an experience of authentic South India in Vasai. Highly recommended for anyone who loves South...
Β Β Β Read moreTried out this newly opened South Indian restaurant and it was a delightful experience! They serve authentic dishes, and everything we had was fresh and full of flavor. We tried the benne dosa, podi idli, and masala dosa. The star of the show was definitely the podi idli-super soft with perfectly balanced podi chutney and a generous touch of ghee that made it irresistible. The benne dosa was also delicious, and their coconut chutney was rich and creamy. The tomato chutney and sambar were great too. They even gave us a complimentary pineapple shira, which was a lovely surprise and tasted amazing. The ambiance is also really pretty -they have these cute small utensils that I found absolutely adorable. The only suggestion I have is to increase the seating space. The place was packed when we went, and we had a bit of trouble finding a seat. But the service was excellent-the owners themselves helped us get a place. All in all, a great spot for a fresh, flavorful South Indian breakfast...

Visited this place recently and tried their Ghee Podi Thatte Idli β and it was a total game changer! The Thatte Idli was soft, fluffy, and perfectly steamed. What took it to the next level was the generous drizzle of aromatic ghee and the flavorful podi (spice powder) that added a spicy, nutty kick with every bite. The texture and taste were simply divine. π
