I along with my partner had visited Del Porto's cafe based on the suggestion received from our contacts. Since my family is into restaurant business and NRAI connections, I decided to give it a try. During the initial visits, the staff appeared to be quite guest friendly and welcoming, but with the increased frequency of visit on work demand basis, we had to sometimes extend our working hours at the cafe. And mind us, we did give them business every day above 500/ Since the cafe has a limited seating area, we have understood their limitations to afford additional guests and proactively vacated the place so that others can be accommodated to the cafe. However today, it was a different scenario altogether, my partner just walked into the cafe as usual on work front, but he was stopped at the entrance by the main chef and manager of the cafe and was asked to leave immediately just by justifying that it's a weekend and only non- regular guests will be allowed. Its shameful because such behaviour or hospitality is not acceptable from the cafe staff at any cost. I do not wish to recommend this cafe to those who are into serious business. And being a part of the food industry, it's a thumbs down from...
Read moreVisited today around 1730 hrs, though at that time there wasn't many people, services are good enough, welcomed by a lady with smile. Place is good, a little away from busy main road and honkings. Main point is quality of food, I will comment only on what tried there, it's not good enough for the pricing, I opted for cafe mocha and blueberry cheesecake. If the cafe official is open to take and implement/ work on the suggestions then this is from my side, Please either improve quality of coffee, mainly i think it's the quality of milk or price it around rs 150-180, same goes with the cheesecake, I have experienced much better than this around the price bracket in Mumbai, along with this slow and soothing music would have been great, a great cafeteria is mostly made up of its excellent ambiance which was absent at my time.... Thanks, will try to visit again to try some...
Read moreThe place and ambience is really nice. I ordered a American grilled cheese sandwich as I told the staff at the counter I wanted something nonspicy and he suggested me this. The presentation is good. But has no real flavour. Can't really taste much of cheese, can taste more of mayonese which wasn't tat great. The chicken was bland. Could see a few vegetables in it but the mayonese was overwhelming all other flavours. The bread was nicely grilled. I was the only person in the cafe at tat time. Inspite of telling them I don't want anything spicy they gave me fries with the sandwich full of masala. The fries I took just a bite were nice but couldn't eat them as I have gastric problem. Would have helped if the staff was more attentive when I told them I don't want anything spicy as I have...
