After a much awaited and excited duration, we finally went to the SALT PAN.... The talk of the town. But alas.... Very very negative experience overall. On arrival, the ambience was good but a mess. Table were more then chairs, guests had just pick up chair from nearby tables and they were just left empty and no space to sit for other guests. The staff was also not keen to do anything about it. They were just trying to manage what they can.
Once settled, we thought of going for the starters, we ordered 3 dishes masala chicken strips, fish and chips and rawa fried butterfly bombil. First to come on the table was the masala chicken. 4 supposed to be boneless strips sipped in sweet sauce in small glasses. Full marks for the presentation as they looked tempting. But the first bite takes you to disappointment, as they were hard to bite and not at all juicy. They felt like just taken out of the fridge, fried without marination and served on the table. Every bite gave out chunks of meat rather than the flavour. Second to the table was the fish and chips. The presentation was alright, a big piece of fish fillet with french fries and mashed peas to accompany. But the chef seems to have a bad mood today while making the dishes. My 6 yrs daughter who is a big fan of French fries let go of them after a few bites. The fish was equally tasteless as we felt like we are eating batter with fish. The chef missed the marination in both dishes, it was applied just before frying so the taste was never there. Finally the main dish of the night, the rawa fried butterfly bombil, man it looked like the chef took out his final agression on this dish. Loaded with rawa and masala but no bombil, only filling. The outer covering was so thick and overfried that we could not taste the bombil at all. Even the presentation was just small pieces of bombil scattered on the platter and guess what, decorated with flavoured Mayo to add taste. We didn't even finish half the dish and let go.
We lost the appetite to an extent that we didn't order the main course. Just paid the bill of a whopping 1k and just left.
Over all a big disappointment if you are a food lover ( or better check if the chef is in a good mood the day you visit) or maybe you should just try the standard Chinese dishes of soup and rice/noodles with starters. But our experience of these new dishes was just horrible. Never am I gonna visit the place again. I seriously missed the bombil dry of zeal restaurant atleast they make it tasty and marinated.
Good luck to the management if they feel they can last long with this food quality...
Read moreMy friend planned for this dinner place and we visited last night. Except the sweet dish we ordered Soups, starters, main course and Mocktails. The tomato soup didn't taste like tomato and the texture of the soup was weird. The potion size was lesser in very dish we ordered. Usually the 1by2 soup is slightly more than half but over here it was less than half. Same for other soups we ordered. starters potion was also less sufficient for only 2 pax. Service was very slow and real disaster. We had to wave and call the waiter to give us water, he didn't come to us when we were seated for 10-15 mins. Our group of 9 were totally ignored and the waiter has to be called throughout our visit. Food was kept on table but no plates were arranged when Food was served we had to wait to be given spoon and fork. Had to call him for the same. We were not to able to enjoy hot food or may be the food was not hot enough. We will never know. One by 2 soup one potion served another potion took another 5 mins to come to the table. The mocktail was also disappointing. It took ages to come and didn't even taste good. I had to remind the waiter to bring the mocktail. The only good thing about the place was the artist playing live music. In food one starter we ordered among th 5 other starters which had chicken kheema and was prepared in a roll it tasted different and good but again it has only 5 small pc. Usually a dish had 6-8 pc outside. Virgin Mojito was also passable but it was given in a short tumbler glass whereas Mojito is served in a tall huge glass. Main course was okay We didn't have patience to go through the dilemma of the service to order the sweet dish though the sizzling brownie fragrance tickle our taste buds. Finally while leaving the restaurant my friend who planned this visit said we will not come to this place again. I hope the feedback is taken in the positive way to improve your overall ratings. Thank you Ambience 3/5 Food 3/5 Service...
Read moreTo start our food we started with some starters: . Chicken Cordon Bleu!! It's always said that food is firstly eaten through eyes 👀 & then by mouth & this is what happened when I saw this dish. Its presentation was perfect 💯. The chicken breast was stuffed with chicken ham & cheese 🧀. It was coated with some crumbs & deep fried. It was crisp, juicy & flavourful. The dish was served with tartar sauce & some salad 🥗. Unlike others this salad included some capsicum & iceberg lettuce 🥬. . Flambé Tandoori Chicken!! Chicken tandoori is 💛. A perfect blend of Indian spices makes a tandoori flavourful & must say this Chicken Tandoori 🍗 tasted yummm. To give it a Flambé effect it was served with Brandy Flambé 🔥. . Veg Manchurian!! The veggies were nicely crisped & they were tossed in Manchurian sauce. . For the main course we ordered: . Murg Musallam!! It was a rich tomato 🍅 gravy with chicken pieces 🥘 that were cooked in a tandoor oven. The gravy tasted nice 👌 Looking at the pan the quantity looks less but it's perfect for 4- 5 people. This is just the half portion & I was happy with its quantity 👍. Also, they serve a small portion of flavoured Biryani rice 🍚 which was delicious too. . Garlic Naan!! We had ordered Garlic 🧄 Naan & it went perfectly with Murg Musallam. . As had heard 👂 about their Desserts and wanted to try some so we went ahead on ordering for: . Jalebi Caviar with Saffron Rabdi!! A fusion dish that will make all Jalebi lovers (& non-Jalebi lovers too) fall for this dish. Jalebi is turned into a caviar like texture (tiny boondi style balls) & topped with some pistachios. Its served in a pool of Rabdi. . Jamun Mousse!! Again a very tasty fusion dessert. Its served with a mousse in the centre & pieces of gulab jamun circling the mousse. The combination of chocolate 🍫 mousse & gulab jamun is nice. The mousse was soft, creamy & loaded with chocolate flavour. The gulab jamuns were soft too. . It's a must-visit place & I highly...
