Truly world class cuisine, and an unmatched, magical atmosphere!

My husband, 10-year-old daughter, and I visited Aam's Courtyard this afternoon with some old friends from Kalimpong. Each of us was delighted by the experience!

The menu offers a wide variety of options for every palate type. Our friends ordered the pulao and the "best fish" dish off the North Indian menu, while my husband ordered daal makhani. On the other hand, I ordered the Lemon Glaze Fish from the European menu and my daughter ordered the mac & cheese with grilled chicken, followed by the warm brownie and ice cream dessert. We were also offered fish fingers and fry chips as appetizers.

Aam's Courtyard must have some excellent chef(s) on staff, because all of these varied types of foods were cooked to perfection! The presentation was spectacular - my Lemon Glaze Fish was practically art! Everything looked both beautiful and appetizing - but more importantly, everything was utterly delicious! All three locals found the North Indian cuisine to be absolutely mouth-watering!

My daughter is a picky eater, but she absolutely loved the mac & cheese and grilled chicken, the hot chocolate, and the dessert! That's high praise, as we have trouble finding food she likes every time we visit India, but this was a 100% win!

I cannot speak highly enough about the Lemon Glaze Fish with grilled potatoes, vegetables, and what I believe was a beetroot reduction! A feast for the eyes and prepared exquisitely. The hearty serving of fish filet was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and seasoned beautifully! The vegetables were cooked perfectly with just the right hint of fresh crunch, and the potatoes were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The reduction was a lovely, mildly sweet addition to each bite. Truly delicious, and quite a hearty portion!

As if the divine food wasn't enough, the ambience was truly magical. I highly recommend that anyone who visits (and everyone should!) try to time their meal to occur at twilight to make the most of the incredible scenery. Whether sitting indoors or outdoors, there is no bad spot as even the indoor seating features expansive windows throughout. The sun setting over the mountains felt unreal - coupled with the soft lighting indoors, lush greenery and beautiful flowers, and fairy lights decorating the space, the effect transports you to a different world.

The decor was lovely and very calming. All facilities were modern, chicly designed, clean, and convenient.

I strongly encourage anyone who has the chance to visit this wonderful restaurant. You will not be disappointed, I can guarantee! As for us, we will visit again at every possible...

Aam's Courtyard is a hidden gem that offers a breathtaking escape into nature. As dusk falls, the restaurant transforms into a magical haven, its charm enhanced by the twinkle of countless lights. The ambiance is nothing short of enchanting, surrounded by lush greenery and beautifully maintained grounds. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was a delightful surprise, adding to the overall experience. The staff at Aam's Courtyard epitomize hospitality, exuding warmth and politeness that make you feel right at home. Their attentive service elevates the dining experience to new heights.

Now, onto the culinary journey. We indulged in a variety of dishes, starting with perfectly crafted burgers and a delectable pizza. The Mediterranean platter was a delightful fusion of flavors, complemented by refreshing smoothies and expertly mixed mocktails. The Indian cuisine, bursting with authentic spices and rich flavors. The pork and shrimp were cooked to perfection, each bite a testament to the chef's skill. Both the food and ambiance at Aam's Courtyard create an inviting and warm atmosphere. It's a place that beckons you to return, a must-visit for anyone seeking a serene yet vibrant...

Great ambience and service but average food. Had heard rave reviews about the restaurant ever since it opened so had been keen on visiting for a while. Finally got the chance to do that for lunch and needless to say, I went with high expectations. It’s a little out of the way from town so it does take a bit of an effort to reach but it’s set in a lovely residential compound with lots of greenery. The first floor is equipped with a tempting bar, but once you find out they don’t serve alcohol, it sort of defeats the purpose of having such a nice one. The menu looked equally promising - a far cry from the regular items one can find in every other joint in Kalimpong. The service is prompt and friendly, always attentive and around. The food didn’t take very long to arrive either, but the portions were quite small and didn’t live up to expectations taste-wise. The vegetarian lasagna that came with mushrooms and spinach didn’t have the latter, and the fish and chips were more like fish cutlet, rather than it being light and airy. We skipped dessert once the meal was over. It’s a nice place if you’re willing to overlook the moderate food and only go for good...

Awesome view, amazing food and great service. The personal touch of Mr Ashish sharma made our visit even more enjoyable. We tried the Mushroom soup which was served in a cup so that you can hold the cup when you feel cold and still enjoy the soup which had some spices to give it a tang. The ravioli with spinach in generous basil pesto sauce and garlic bread was a meal in itself. The chocolate cake and brownie shake is a must if you enjoy chocolate flavor. The chicken braised and grilled dish with fresh vegetables and mushroom rice was a delicious and hearty meal for one person. The crockery and cutlery and the presentation of each dish reminded me of eating in a city. The Kalimpong residents must surely be happy having such a place in their town where they can unwind or celebrate an occasion. The owner Mr Sharma is also a chef with 32 years experience and that clearly shows in the menu he has curated. The personal touch makes all the difference. Won't be surprised if this place becomes a must do thing in the Kalimpong itinerary.

Aam's Courtyard is located a bit inside. It is very near to Hotel Summit Lilium. We tried several types of mocktails and shakes. During the main course we had Chicken Skewers, Fish n Chips, Quesadillia and Burger. The place is multi cuisine so you will have all types of options. The food was very good. So was the service. The atmosphere was nice. They had projector to watch sports. The place was well decorated. Portions were suitable for 3 people.
